I wonder why some teams aren't just starting with road bikes. Would be much better in the corners and you don't lose that much on the straights.

Obviously not a popular opinion I see, but I love a TTT.

I love TTT's. They're art to me!
But writing negatively earlier in this thread yesterday was due to parcours and weather conditions.

I really don't want this awaited great race to be a lottery already from the gun.

But OK I'll take that TTT's as opener for Vuelta has been a tradition and with a couple of even more quirky slopes on paper in previous editions, however mostly for uphill sections. This is mostly flat at high speeds - and now bumping in I identify indeed slippery roads.

Had the TTT been deeper into the race and not at city parcours but in open landscapes, I'm still all in.

The top level is very high in this Vuelta, but holy smokes there's lot of pack fodder as well looking through all these teams.
