Congrats to Dunbar, impressive that he found such strength to hold off the splintering red jersey group in the finish. Mas again proving to be strong but not strong enough to make any impression on Roglic sailing towards overall victory. Landa attacked in the final km but blew and finished behind. An excellent ride by Ben O'Conner today showing great recovery on a super hard stage in a hard raced grand tour.
That picture is from an epic interview at Isola2000 where he didn't use more than 2 words per answer.
Kudos to Eddie Dunbar, who has performed exceptionally in the second half of the Vuelta, taking his second stage victory of this 2024 edition on the summit finish of Picón Blanco.

That’s not what usually defines “queen stage” that I know of. Queen stage doesn’t have to mean the most decisive stage bevause that would sometimes be an ITT.
Distance and profiles (number and difficulty of climbs) define queen stages - not how it is raced. The Queen stage is determined before it is raced not after. Everyone is wise in hindsight. Today was the queen stage of this Vuelta.

Usually that grace is extended when all the sprinters and another 40 guys miss the cut.
That was painful to watch. Too bad for him but the sport is cruel in so many ways.
Good win for Dunbar & Jayco after all his misfortunes. QS tried but no team could put Roglic into trouble.
Bora going down with suspected food poisoning was ironic and a twist in the tale of this Vuelta. It just again shows that chances have to be taken when the opportunity arises. Bora did that on Friday and luckily for them they did. For all the talk about Vlasov and Martinez though, Lipowitz has been the stand out domestique for Bora.
Barring illness Roglic should win the Vuelta on Sunday but it's been a tough battle after gifting O'Connor so much time.
