Not even close. He is honestly looking like a top 3 climber in this race...Has Gall ever really been that close to serious GT contention?

Today had the potential to be a disaster for Roglic, since he was clearly not at his best. So ... decent escape.Actually, this outcome wasn't too bad for Roglic. Apart from shipping 4 seconds to O'Connor, it was actually good for him. For Mas this will be a little blow, that his effort didn't pay off. Great to have such an interesting race at our hands!
Or back is hurting . . .He was right on his wheel, too, either no legs or brain failure.
..it only hurts him when he doesn't win...Or back is hurting . . .
Carapaz is currently 3rd.. he's definitely in the game.I think Yates' and Carapaz' ended up being rather indifferent for gc so the big stories are
1. Roglic couldn't drop O'Connor
2. Mas was by far the strongest
3. In the end they all finished together
Even though 1. and 2. sound like big stories I still see Roglic as the clear favorite. This feels like the Galibier stage in the 2007 TdF when sadly for Contador the only day when he could emphatically drop his opponents was also the one mountain stage with a long rolling descent at the end.
You’ve had back problems I take it?..it only hurts him when he doesn't win...
..no I haven't yet..thank godYou’ve had back problems I take it?
In yesterday's post-race interview (after he won), he said it was hurting...it only hurts him when he doesn't win...
Considering he wasn't good enough to stay with Roglic and Mas on the first two mtf's he probably would have needed an advantage to become a contender. Just like O'Connor is only a contender because he's 4 minutes in front. Nobody would consider hin a threat if he was a minute behind Roglic.Carapaz is currently 3rd.. he's definitely in the game.
Do think Carapaz was significantly better today than on stages 4 and 8, though. He's definitely not the favourite but with the way the race is going anyone in the top-9 has a genuine chance of winning the whole thing, and he is not among the unlikeliest of those 9.Considering he wasn't good enough to stay with Roglic and Mas on the first two mtf's he probably would have needed an advantage to become a contender. Just like O'Connor is only a contender because he's 4 minutes in front. Nobody would consider hin a threat if he was a minute behind Roglic.
The thing everyone needs to realise is this race is only really starting
And as they go north it will get cooler . Roglic looks unbeatable but anyone can fall by the way side any day. Just ask Almeida
I thought he would lose another 45’ today, but who knew Roglic would be on an off day? Tell me, is that really “haven’t a clue,” or you’re just annoyed?
I don't think O'Connor and Richie is in the same tier at all. Carapaz doesn't really need a big advantage like Ben. Don't really think this comparison is any good at allConsidering he wasn't good enough to stay with Roglic and Mas on the first two mtf's he probably would have needed an advantage to become a contender. Just like O'Connor is only a contender because he's 4 minutes in front. Nobody would consider hin a threat if he was a minute behind Roglic.
Please substitute Kuss, for all people considered irrelevant and non factors, repeat of last year. People angry that some nobody, some outsiders are screwing up the script!!Considering he wasn't good enough to stay with Roglic and Mas on the first two mtf's he probably would have needed an advantage to become a contender. Just like O'Connor is only a contender because he's 4 minutes in front. Nobody would consider hin a threat if he was a minute behind Roglic.
The only way Del Toro could get the white jersey was to fight him on the road!!almost half an hour after Yates, Tiberi and del Toro still haven't finished the race
Must be illness for Tiberi, surely? I noticed his teammate Kepplinger DNF-ed today.almost half an hour after Yates, Tiberi and del Toro still haven't finished the race
That picture of him in the polka dot jersey yesterday made him look fat, so he didn't want it anymore.Roglič got rid of the Rogla dots which were clearly weighing him down today.
I don't agree. I think he's more likely to finish in the top-5 than not.Considering he wasn't good enough to stay with Roglic and Mas on the first two mtf's he probably would have needed an advantage to become a contender. Just like O'Connor is only a contender because he's 4 minutes in front. Nobody would consider hin a threat if he was a minute behind Roglic.
