GTs are so much more enjoyable when they are so open like this and not über controlled by a couple super strong teams on every single stage.

The heat likely adds to this effect since it means the peloton is more than happy to take it easy for most of the stage so break aways are less controlled. I wonder also whether the overall parcours with so many mountain stages and relatively few sprint stages meant that teams have brought fewer rouleurs with them who can control the flatter part of the stages in favor of a few more mountain domestiques. I haven't done the math on that so don't know if the numbers match my hunch.

I never said every one ...I said some posters?
I can go back a find the comments but alot said he would be in grave difficulty today
I am not confusing anything. Why are you arguing with me if you re rooting for him to get caught ? So be it ..that is fine everyone has their favourites . My point is so many posters wrote him off but not based on previous evidence

Havent a clue is just about O Connor's abilities ...its not an indicator of anyone's cycling knowledge
You said: “All the posters on here saying Ben O connor would lose so much time to Roglic today havent a clue.” So yes, I heard that as you saying “everyone,” though also knew you were using it as a euphemism.

I have no idea what he's feeling, and back injuries are tricky. But I think if he's not going to mention it when you're going well, maybe don't when you're not.

for real though, i would hazard a guess that he didn't mention it yesterday because it wasn't a problem maybe? like i said, today was a completely different type of effort than yesterday (which you should know since you've raced a bike) that possibly triggered his back injury in a way that yesterdays stage did not.

Enric Mas put in a huge effort today and in the end was the only one in the GC Top 10 to lose a position (apart from those who relaly fell apart).
For a bad Roglic day, this wasn't too bad I'd say. Keeps the GC interesting.

Just looked it up. Apparently, symptoms can show up as late as 14 days after getting infected, usually from a cat scratch or bite.
Well, I make the pussy purr with the stroke of my hand
They know they gettin' it from me
They know just where to go when they need their lovin' man
They know I'm doin' it for free

It's nothin' dangerous
I feel no pain
I've got the choo-choo train
You know you got it when you, you're going insane
It makes a grown man cry, cry, oh won't you make my bed

They give me cat scratch fever
Cat scratch fever
I got a bad scratch fever

Itt is a very crazy race, and it is difficut to predit becouse there is not a crear leder and a team controlling, The pity is there is not lot of days to attacl from the start and make a selection. Clearly last day at Picon Blanco, there is another, but no so clear.

Yesterday it looks like Roglic, Mas, Landa could be the podium, but tofday nobody would be very surprised if we have O Connor, Adam Yates and Carapaz on Madrid. Even Carlos Rodriguez couldone day to take 3 minutes and become favourite,
I though O Connor could be today better than yesterday but he took even time at the end, so trhat put him as clear candidate, necouse tody was one of the hard stages. He coudl lose hald a minute here and there, but with that he c an win La Vuelta.

I am with Landa. he was 4 th today but it was a negative day for him. -didnt take time on O connoe, he even took 4 seconds..didnyt put time on Roglic in one of the thouhest days for him and Carapaz put ahead and Yates close to him. Hard rivals.

But the positive day is that It could have been worse, with Mas taking time, or even Roglic, and Carapaz and yates taking more time, He is not good wwith hot weather and he was 4th on the stage. His best days should be to come, and he is 5th, so everything can happend and I am very confident wiith him, but he need to make a super day or to put time every day and get bonus, Other way even the podium is difficult.
The stage was good to attack form far, but to put so a long descent almost without corners and that flat on the end without another climb makes the design no so good, mas did ok, but alone there is no way, if he had not a day like today people as Landa to go with him, he has to stay as he has done lot of times or to attack when Carapaz did, becouse he had the legs to goo with him and Roglic not his team wouldnt have done anything. He was brave today, but not enough, he gone at the last climb when he show he was the strongest. Tody it wwanst an stage to attack just the last climb with than long descent. Just UAE and Carapaz did ok, and just becouse they dont have anything to lose. For that reason we love Pogacar, he has always the legs, but he dont hesitate to attack from far.

thank god we have you on this forum to be the morality police. what would we do without you? i hope Primoz is reading and learning that he needs to be more open about his injuries while competing in a world tour bicycle race.

for real though, i would hazard a guess that he didn't mention it yesterday because it wasn't a problem maybe? like i said, today was a completely different type of effort than yesterday (which you should know since you've raced a bike) that possibly triggered his back injury in a way that yesterdays stage did not.
Someone posted a piece in the Roglic thread that said yesterday he did say it was hurting after the stage.

Couldn't watch the stage but I guess nothing important happened in the descents and the stage would've been as entertaining if it'd finished on top Sierra Nevada.
In that case maybe Carapaz or UAE didnt try from so far. But anyway thay dont have anything to lose, so maybe was a similar start.

And in that case Mas would have put 2 minutes to Roglic, maybe Landa was stronger at the end...maybe today, yes, would have been better to finish at Sierra Nevada.
