Perhaps not much Wednesday but on Valdezcaray, it could certainly have been helpful if Soler, Ayuso and Vine had been there and shown the level they have done in breakaways.

And that is the one stage with the biggest time difference in this race.
Vine was there and did his best, but it was a very explosive effort, not his strength. Soler could only help with positioning.

With Lidl-Trek and Jorgenson drilling it, and Almeida refusing to go over his limit and immediately react to Vingegaard, it was hard to help him. Most riders were on the limit when *** hit the fan.

Was Ayuso strong enough to make a difference (if he hadn't been in a break two days before)? Plausibly. I don't know.

Pedersen said that if Vingegaard wins the GC by 4 seconds or less, then him and Vingegaard will be emptying the local kebab place in Glyngøre.
Vingegaard seemed to agree with that plan.

I'm guessing the "Pancakes at Copenhagen City Hall" tradition applies here too.

No pancakes at City Hall

The Danish Cycling Union (DCU) confirmed that neither Vingegaard nor fellow Danish standout Mads Pedersen will appear at the iconic City Hall event in the coming days.
