really? a low-gradient unipuerto? and he outsprints an entire pack (after having to chase back on from a crash)... seems pretty formidable to me.
It was obviously a very good performance. Just not the massively over powered stuff I've come to expect from him.

Too bad Ciccone didn't manage to beat Vingegaard here. Great to see Bernal up there too.

A bit disappointing from Pidcock and the UAE leaders.
Bernal also started well at the Giro. He was ahead in the stage won by Ayuso. Bernal's problem is the passing of the days. The last week is usually disappointing.

If Visma wants, Vingegaard will lead until the end.
We'll see if they give the jersey to a breakaway.

fully expected but that looked ominous from Jonas - going to be almost impossible for a GC rider to take time off him on mountain finishes

he said he would take it easy the first part of the race to hit breakaways later on, yeah.

He definitely did not try to take it easy today tho. He tried, he just wasn't good enough (which is completely normal)

Not that I have a problem with him trying today, why not. He's pretty punchy.

Will be interesting how long Visma will defend the jersey for. Stage 4 is a potential break but I'd assume sprint teams control.

Stage 6 should be a definite break though to get rid of the jersey

It's only stage two though and he had already had a crash, and they still have a long way to go. (CVV mentioned Vingo's elbow might have gotten a bit knocked up and bruised, if CVV and Bob Roll's commentary was to be trusted.)

Okay, random question:
How many times did Vingegaard spine around himself at the end of his little slide?

For anyone who likes to use Watts2win as some gold standard for climbing performances

Pogacar was right to fear the might of Giulio Ciccone

I honestly don't get why people bring their dogs to bike races.
Do they think they (the dogs) enjoy it?
Just leave the pupper at home, with some nice cold water, and a confortable place to lie down.
Want to get back to this because I'm a dog owner - I think it's okay if dog owners take their dogs to a race, but they just need to make sure they keep their dogs waayyyy out of the way when the riders are passing through.

This is why you usually wait a couple of hours for them to readjust the watts.
Now they show the reality:
Ciccone - 13:50 - 6.95 W/Kg VAM 1761 Index: 82
Yes, Watts2win are reliable.
