Roglic won his 2020 Vuelta by virtue of bonus seconds. Ten of those were achieved by winning on a finish similar to today’s, and another six by finishing second on a stage similar to yesterday’s. Those are critical amounts when you win a race by 24 seconds,I believe your perspective, but I'd actually have to see typical gap differences in mountains in each of those cases of GT winners, and I am willing to bet MTF and steep selections made the real gap time differences for each of the winners.
Yes indeed.JV: Today suits me a little bit less than yesterday.
Slight understatement
Difference here is at Le Tour everyone lined up behind them because of Pogacar. This is the Vuelta, more chaotic and spicier terrain where riders take the opportunities to make a season of a stage or the whole thing. It'll take one wrong guess on a break to put JV on notice and force them to expend resources. Should that happen a few times with different players they'll have to prove they can manage the situation or Vingo will be doing it himself. We're into some unknown territory with the opposition.Vingegaard rode exactly the same way in the Dauphine and the Tour so it shouldn't be such a surprise he's doing that approach again now . He has clearly improved his explosivity and tries to gain us much from it as he can. Pog aside, he was clearly stronger than the others for the rest of the race in France and should be even more clearly against this Vuelta field.
Do you have a double "!!" key on your keyboard? All that matters is real life!! Day before Vingegaard is revered from exclamation .. every stage is important!! Today forgotten quality animal, bookstore clerk Davie Gaudu lights guys up who maybe didn't remember that he is a solid pro.. Over a decade at 28..guy has been an animal since pre teen and even when he blows up, races to win!!
All or nothing
often ends with nothing but David keeps drilling it despite the unlikely probability of victory!!
Win or lose he tries to factor!! Today is a cool trophy for a guy that races all out.
