Because that's also not his role. It's not like Kuss or Soler are going to win this Vuelta, they are going for the stage OR to help their teammates later on. Vervaeke is merely there to help his teammate later on, if necessary.

Surely JV can’t screw this set up and not launch big attacks to bridge up.

Remco has a man up the road as insurance but UAE are the missing link who surely now have to chase.

Edit - forgot about Soler being on UAE as he rides as if he is Team Soler normally!

Why would they get 10min? They just don't need to go crazy in trying to catch them back. Just let them ride, give them time. Still enough people that will lower the gap to around 5min at the finish. Which I think isn't an issue for SQS.

isn't that just as big of an issue for UAE/JV ? yes they have Kuss/Soler, but will they help Kuss if he is dropped? same for Soler? (considering these teams are also against each other).

Can they give 5 minutes to the likes of Kuss, Landa and others? Kuss has regularly finished in the top 10 of GTs without being a leader. And we know how good Landa can be.
