You can talk about Rodriguez gaining 20-30 seconds today but the difference between being tired and relatively fresh tomorrow could be worth 1-2 minutes

because the guys getting dropped aren't gonna feel it. uhuh.

Rodriguez won't get a worse time trial course, especially if is also windy. At least the Tour course had some hills. If Menchov and Wiggins are on a good day it could be interesting as far as time gaps go. Rodriguez may not be worried about winning the stage today but he will have to attack if he sees some of his rivals not doing too well.

i am eager to see what nibbles, VdB2, anton and machado can do.

the first 3 because their form is "unkown" for several reasons and the last one simply because he is portuguese :p

would be nice if machado could enter the top 20 today as he has said to the portuguese newspapers that his form is improving

Yesterday in Colorado, 3 climbers contested a flat stage. Today 4 non-climbers are in the pole position to win a MTF. Curious at least:)

ITV 4 coverage lol. You cant make it up how bad this coverage is. They had a caption up apologising for the loss of pictures all the time they a perfectly good picture up.

Its all adverts and people I've never heard of talking crap apart from Boardman and not enough action.

VDB I think could be a danger. I think he has looked good so far and should do a pretty good time trial. The longer climbs will give us more idea of form.

To be fair to ITV, there isn't any action to show at the moment. The peloton is just waiting for the climb.

Ned Boulting has been covering the TdF for ITV since 2003, so is not a no-one in the cycling coverage world, and Matt Rendell knows a lot about cycling. Just because you haven't heard of them doesn't mean they are crap.

I think this is a very important stage, because it's the first chance for climbers to make a gap on a longer climb. I don't expect Rodriguez before the final K, but maybe VDB or Scarponi could attack between K8 en 4? Today will certainly make clear who the real favorites are. I wonder if Menchov, Nibali and Anton will lose time or not.

Euskaltel at the front, now, hope that means anton feels better. If not: Nieve to win the stage.
