wow!! today the first group of 20 riders 4 colombians! duarte attacked in first km but around 40 km before finish he decided to drop back with minutes ahead still. very strange but in the final climb alex cano with duarte in his wheel rode until only 10 guys were still there. no doubt they are the best climbers here. with tomorrow's itt I don't see anyone stopping duarte. the colombians are finally here _O_

he is a great talent but he got destroyed by duarte and cano in subida naranco final climb

I unfortunately did not see the race, or highlights-but was he possibly reserving himself for the next 5 days? Duarte and Cano only finished 5 and 13 seconds respectively ahead of Intxausti when all was said and done.

If I'm not mistaken Intxausti was in the early break in that race.

Edit: He wasn't, that was another race, I'm sorry.

EE on a bit of a roll after their usual early season drought. What's that, 5 wins in the last 2-3 weeks?

That would be correct, and shockingly only 40% are due to Sanchez!

And add up the podium of Intxausti in Pais Vasco and the brilliant performance in LBL and the Fleche Wallone by Anton (I never even imagened it would be possible for a tiny climber like Anton to compete in a race over 260km with lots of flat sections).

It seems EE is finally back on track a bit, and I like that quite much.

I agree 100%, haven't been this exited about EE since, errr 2003.

Intxausti intermediate times during the ITT were all way off. The clock read 19'-05", when he crossed the line, but changed to the winning time, as soon as it stopped.
I couldn't understand how he appeared to be riding so slowly!

Soon be off to the traditional MTF......

Oh god! The Colombians are showing how they are truly the greatest climbers in the world. Let the other raceorganisers take notice and invite them. Cafe de Colombia is only the 6th best team in Colombia, but seem to be the only one that want to expend to europe and duarte is an amazing talent.

Boyaca es Para Vivirla/Boyaca Orgullo de America or whatever they're calling themselves this week have been seen in Europe a fair few times at races like the Troféu Joaquim Agostinho, Subida a Urkiola and so on.
