Oh for god sake.

How can you NOT know Mollema. He's been around since 2008 you know.
Dude finished the Giro as 12th last year, often finishing top 10 in the mountain stages. 3rd in Tour of Poland where he won a hilly stage also. This year 9th in Paris Nice and 10th in Catalunya....

Colombians failed to attack in the last climb. Me thinks the climb was too fast (low gradient) and that didn't help them. Hec, it didn't help Contador either. It usually benefits bigger guys with a lot of power.

yeah exactly. in colombia they call this flat and quintana and such aren't real guys for pulling in flat.

That was the strangest final to watch. Somehow we missed basically all of the important action. I have no idea what really happened on that climb.
In truth, not a lot.
Time to start talking about that 11km ITT, I suppose.
TGBM, Tondo and Cioni in the mix, Anton and Pozzotivo out?

I only saw the finish. Colnago rider passing the line and then out of the blue (orange actually): Mollema. Congrats to my Dutch comrades. He's been ridiculed enough.

We sure know Colombians are the best at ruling the mountains that the rest of the field don't care about.

Yeah but they had mostly climbers in this race, not rouleurs.

Anton and Pozzovivo are hardly rouleurs. Those Colombians seem experts in wasting energy when it doesn't matter.

you obviously didn't see the race :)

I obviously did. Just like many races in the recent years where I keep seeing Colombian riders attacking very early only to be overtaken by the top riders when it counts.

Or maybe Anton and Pozzovivo are better talent than the Colombians! Because they were in the same attacks if you missed them.

To be honest these young Colombians have to adapt to racing in Europe so it is OK if they have missfires initially. So cool down.

What's suprising, is that Chalapud has recently put in the best performances. While he is nowhere near the best climber on that squad

they didn't attack they split the field and only anton and pozzovivo could follow, no small feat at all. and by showing how serious it was after the climb both anton and pozzo cooperated with the 3 colombians to get the gap on contador.

Probably.

Although Mollema pwned Tondo in the Paris-Nice TT last month.
Indeed. And like Gesink recently, he got all of his advantage on the flat. What's up with these Dutch climbing talents turning into rouleurs?
