Unfortunately I couldn't watch, but JP Suarez won on El Picacho, with Aristobulo Cala being the new leader. No idea what happened, but somehow, someway, Oscar Soliz made a big leap and now he is 10th in the GC. No further results as of yet.

You don't even know what the GC looks like beyond the top 10. Soliz and Laverde are the only contenders in the top 10 right, is the rest done as well?

Oscar Sevilla arrived 19 at 4:41. So it would be very hard to come back from this loss.
He was like 4th of the contenders, in the same time as Cano, so safe to say it had nothing to do with heights as Max Rockatansky suggested. That said, this is far from over with a 36k time trial and a stage to Letras.

But it makes for a great outcome of this race. The big guys (Sevilla, Cano, Duarte, even Soliz) have to attack like mad men in the next stages.

A couple of years back, Rubiano also was in the same position. He hold himself well during the rest of La Vuelta, but totally crumbled in the TT to Las Palmas on the final day. Would be great for him to finally win this race, but JP Suarez is a big threat too in this shape.

Another tough climbing day today. Movistar Colombia have really gone all out for this one, with Ángel Alexander Gil and Óscar Soliz together, 2 minutes ahead of the main group going over the Alto de Chiflas.

Edit: lol, forget that, complete misreading I think. There are two escapees ahead of the group which Gil and Soliz are in, not that they are the escape. It seemed bizarre, but having seen some interesting tactical choices in the Vuelta a Colombia before, not impossible and I rather jumped the gun on posting.

Cano for sure is in the mix. Sevilla, however, will not take more then 2 minutes out of Cano in normal circumstances.

He's doomed.
