1. Which are the best bicycle shops in Washington DC?
2. Do any professional cyclists live in the Washington area?

Cycle Life (K St.)
Conte's (Arlington and Bethesda locations)
2. Matt Cooke

Yes, Bicycle Pro Shop on K street is the best in my opinion, though the others are quite good also.
