Weirdest thing you've ever carried in your jersey pockets?

I've carried some strange and obtuse stuff on my back as a bike messenger in the past and I think it allows me to get a little over confident of what I can fit in my jersey pockets. Today I carried my canon supershot camera and tripod for a few short miles to work. I had it under my jacket so it didnt look like I stole it or just a *** in general. I'm sure my back looked like nothing short of a stegosaurus' but you gotta do what you gotta do :p

Anybody else pulling weird cargo in the back?

Ammunition, marijuana, a used condom, half of a finger, a blood soaked knife...

These probably require further explanation. Really, I'm not a freak.

Fair enough, wouldn't want anyone thinking axe-murderers populated the forum. Spent some time on a mtn bike police unit. Sometimes I would be unable to properly hand over custody of exhibits and would keep custody of them until I could get back to the office. No way they were going in the pannier where I kept my snacks. At least the finger, dope, and especially the condom were in sealed plastic bags!

Okay that makes sense. It was either that or you were an enforcer for the Yakuza and you forced a guy to cut his finger off after being caught doing drugs in bed with the wrong man's wife. Still had not figured out how the ammo played into the story.:D

Can't compete with Pedalling Squares, but I have carried home DVDs and a red slider turtle in my jersey pockets. The turtle kept on trying to claw its way out of my pocket - made for an awkward ride home!

A little OT but it was on 2 wheels. I strapped a 4 man toboggan to my back and rode my motorcycle up to the snow to go sledding .

Iwas hand rearing baby starlings and to keep them fed and warm they came on bike rides with me in my jersey pocket, also had an injured seagull up my jersey, all survived and are flying free now.

A long ride is not the same without some of these

Do you carry the hot cup of coffee to warm them up as well?

I actually found these in my local supermarket here in Brisbane a couple of months ago. The Dutch guy I work with was very excited!

I put them in a plastic bag. One hour into my ride and they are perfect. I usually pick up as many as I can in Europe when I am there.

Whoah, Robert the Muppet has crawled out of his bunker to see if the world has ended yet. Sorry to disappoint, but Da Joos haven't launched their master plan to take over the earth yet. Check again in a few months.

A small stuffed teddy bear I'd picked up from the side of the road. Must have fallen out of a car. I cleaned it up and gave it to a kid who was riding my bus with her family.

I also once stopped to help a woman stuff a live baby duck into her jersey pocket. She intended to take it to the local wildlife rehab center. I don't know if the duck survived the ride.

Okaaaaaaaay. That just might be the weirdest. But might I ask what for? Or do I not want to know?

Haha! Worksuit stays there, but I always need clean underpants. So, I stow them in the jersey pocket for the ride to work.

my riding buddy once pulled out a corn dog and started eating it in the paceline. top 10 moment to see the looks on the faces of the riders he offered a bite to.
