If anyone has seen the races he did this year, he totaly beasted people like Sella, Pozzovivio. I would say he is better than before

I know he's back and he hasn't won every race he did so far. I was hoping he'll never make it back to a Grand Tour, didn't explain my self enough there. Only stage race I saw him win was the Tour of Austria btw. Big whoop.

I let the result speak for themselves and this is after nearly 2 year hiatus. imagine next year... Vino is also much stronger this year than last year and basso too...

is it that hard to understand epo makes basiclaly no difference when everyone is clean the same guys are on top and ricco was only 24 when caught in the tour. just wait until you see thomas dekker back...

Ricco' would've made the race a lot more interesting.

His character alone makes a lot of people edgy and his racing style would make the Tour instantly more interesting to me.

Look at what Vino alone did this Tour compared to last years Bore de France.
Imagine Ricco back....and Soler if he's not injured.
Could be so much nicer

Sella and Pozzovivo aren't exaclty on the level of Contador and Schleck, and for that matter Samu Sanchez, Menchov, Evans, Basso.....

I never liked the guy, has nothing to do with the fact he took CERA. It's like the new Lance Armstrong, only worse. And I don't know what results you're talking about. What race is it? Probably a race no one cares to peak for it.

I'm sure Basso and Vino had this event circled on their calenders in hopes that their form would be at its peak.

Can someone explain what Vino has done that has made the tour so interesting over and above any number of other riders?

A great and flambouyant stage win, yes, but Chavanel did that twice! That aside?

Sella isn't the rider he was, sure. And Riccò beat Pozzovivo in a couple of uphill sprints. But Pozzovivo dropped Riccò on Alpe di Pampeago to win in the Giro del Trentino, and then dropped him like a stone again a week later in the Giro dell'Apennino.

considering tahtw as ricco's 3rd race back after 2 years that is impressive by ricco. pozzivivo was actually in topshape in trentino and sucked in the giro afterwards.

you guys are in for a ****ty 2011 if you dislike ricco

Doubt it, I'm a big Tom Boonen fan and also a Cancellara fan(to a lesser extent though, I'd rather have Boonen win one of the monuments)

And no way that Ricco is ever going to win a Grand Tour if Contador or Andy Schleck is in it.

And for the other monuments like LBL and Giro di Lombardia I'll root for Philippe Gilbert.

And that's all I pretty much watch in cycling... Classic races and Grand Tours.

Look ppl We are not saying that Riccó will win every single GT, that he is going to drop AC and Andy big time, that he is going to win every single MTF... We are saying that he would make the race more interesting, with more emotion, more controversial, That is what I want from cycling... Cycling shouldn't be a tea party... I want to see attacks, attacks, attacks, fights (on the bike OFC), controversials, etc...

With Riccó in La Grande Boucle we would have that!

What impact would Ricco have had?

None.

Riccó is great in the mountains, but a step below Andy or Alberto. Even today, in the Giro, he would have a very difficult time beating the likes of Basso or Scarponi.

As far as the Tour goes though... too big of a shoe for such a small foot.

Scarponi made a jump to podium contender in his second career, why can't Ricco improve?

I have been around world class athletes in a wide range of sports for over 35 years in my professional life. I have seen some of the greatest talent and potential ever found, go unrealized or recognized for a variety of very consistent reasons. Most of which have to do with ego, attitude, mental fortitude, and expectations of entitlement. Ricco is close the the epitome of this very problem. He is his own worst enemy, and he is destined to continue flame out in a most spectacular fashion.

Says the guy who thinks Ricco will win everything next year when he couldn't even win a Grand Tour filled with dope against a guy who didn't even prepare him self for it.

I think that explains why you have no clue about cycling here. I'm not going to watch things like the Tour of Austria when the TdF is on =/ The only reason why I know he won it was bc the commentators of the TdF were talking about his incident during the time trial.

in 2008 giro ricco rode cleanly and you don't really believe that beahc story bullsh*t from contador right?? ricco called him baywatcher and in the tour 2008 he said I just lay on the beach for a month to see how it worked.

ricco was clean in giro 2008 they restested the bloodresults with cera after sella got caught in the summer of that year.

I think Ricco said he believed that Contador had been on the beach--the beach in Madrid. :p

Again, Let Riccardo Ride! We won't see him in any cutesy Specialized or Sidi commercials, or taking face pats from Contador.

Ricco needed 28:30 for the Kitzbuheler Horn at the Tour of Austria, thats like 400 Watts for him, good enough for being in the top 5 at the climbs at the TDF in my opinion.

Actually I do believe "that beach story bullsh*t from Contador". You obviously believe every word that falls from Ricco's mouth based on your post. What I do believe that he said is that he's been boosted regularly but only was caught at the Tour.

I guess I would agree. The Tour is as much spectacular failure as it is about incredible victories. I am sure he will play his part.
