Well reading through the ban TTT’s thread I didn’t realise so many people enjoyed them.
I don’t really enjoy to watch them and think they favour the better funded teams and gc riders a bit too much. I think they’re better on more technical courses though.

What kind of stages would you like to see more of? Or less?
Did the final stage of this years tour show a bit more variety would be good ?
Here are some for me.

* I’d like to see longer individual time trials, at least one long one in most gts.

* more mountain time trials (maybe even courses with a big climb to start, a descent that is technical but not too dangerous and a big climb to finish)

*What about more stages finishing with a number of laps of a circuit? This would be good viewing for both the host town and tv.
What about a circuit race instead of a prologue or usual sprinters stage now and then ?

What are your ideas?

Please no. GT's are already weighted in favour of climbers/ GC riders we don't need more stages that favour them. However, I'd like to see ITT's on Gravel or cobbles......that would sort some riders out - and those with poor skills wouldn't have team mates to bale them out......

Classic style puncheur stages with murs and technical parcours. If done right, it can lead to relentless hard riding and nail biting finales!

A GT should have at least one TT of almost one 1 hour. Contemporary "prologue-length" TTs remove one important element of TT racing: managing your effort!

Go hard at the start? How not burn yourself out too soon? Add a reasonable mur towards the end and those who miscalculated will bonk hard.

When to drink/feed? Nowadays it's just all-out. Don't even need a bidon... boring.

Very long itts (1of ~70km and another of ~45, plus an 8 km prologue and a mtt, plus an 80 km ttt) and 1-2 mountain stages of similar difficulty to morzine 1983 or sestrieres 1992

Stages containing a monster climb (around 30-40 km from the line) followed by a descent and a lesser climb at the end. Those combos can deliver great GC action i.e.: Finestre + Sestriere, Mortirolo + Aprica, Stelvio + Cancano.

Just use the finale of that Avenir stage with some decent climbs in the first 130km and I'm happy.

I want to have more short TT/prolouges in Grand Tours and then atleast one really long on pretty flat terrain. A 6-15 km TT to start the GT and then a ~50 km one late in week one or in week 2 would be great.
