There's a whole raft of Italian one dayers coming up, but, amazingly, Lazio (after 75 starts) and Milan-Turin, both HC, are cancelled.

Lazio was too close to Cimurri Memorial. It's a shame because i would have preferred this one to stay. Probably financial problems for Milan-Turin.

Anyway the Tour of Emily is probably the best race for the contenders to check their level before Lombardy.

Quite true. I thought this was a French forum when I read this debate. :D

Sanchez will win i think. He will get away on the climb then nobody will be able to catch him on the descent to the finish.

Judging by the Coppa Sabatini, Evans will have a good shot at winning. The WC win seems to have given him a huge confidence boost, making him more aggressive.

I'm trying to not get too over confident because when i do that i get dissapointed (e.g. tdf 08). Though he should be in with a shot.

In a route like 06 or 07 A. Schleck still would finish 2nd, on the bases of the fact there were also more and harder mountain stages besides the TT.
In 07 total anti-tt Rasmussen was winning the Tour de France remember.

Dont underestimate A. Schleck. I made that mistake before

I think you're right. TDF has always had difficult mountain stages, which suits pure climbers like Andy very well. I think during LA's 7 year domination, there weren't pure climbers, which made it easy for all around to win. Andy Schleck is destined to win the TDF, it's only a matter of time.

if gilbert can make it to the lead group for the sprint he may be the only rider to challenge cunego in the sprint From past races their is usually about 8 riders in contention by the final climb.

Come on no mention of my man Craig Lewis? 11th last year and 13th in Beghelli this year, now if he can just convince Lovkvist and Monfort to ride for him.

I don't think Cunego can keep up with Gilbert if they come down to the end together.
