wait, how long has Merckx been retired? Do people still talk about him?
Coppi isn't even alive, others .....

I think the story of Lance will go on for many many years, for better or worse.

I want to reassure all of you that after Lance retires, I will continue to say mean things about him.

Once he goes to prison and Bubba gets to play house on a regular basis (IF he ever goes to prison, he will most likely do time at Butner here in NC which is a country club compared to somewhere like Atlanta), I will leave the guy alone. Sorry, but I feel no sympathy for him at all.

Lance will continue with cycling, helping the Uci with time and money and developing spectacular young tallent like Taylor Phinny who Im sure is the next Peter Sagan if he was a little older and not as good.

When Lance goes away cycling will return to a Euro backwater sideshow.
.
It will be faintly melancholy, like the sound of an accordion in a Paris metro station.
.
Women will have to wear hats, and men ties, when they fly Pan Am to get there.
.

On this forum? There will be less threads about him, as he won't be doing anything new in races every day so we won't have the rash of 'hey I didn't notice Lance standing up on the bike so much before this year' or 'does Lance eat meat on race days?' threads. I predict, however, that in the next year, the Clinic part of this forum will be talking a lot about new Armstrong developments. As there has always been about half the talk on that forum about him, I look forward to consolidating the speculation with jury-determined fact.

5 days, people. 5 days. And counting.

If you take into account the corialis effect and the fact that every other year the Tour runs counter-clockwise in the northern hemisphere, LA's cadence actually increases by 1.37825 RPM.

It's been proven in the low-speed wind tunnel in San Diego.

(apologizing for my basic and primitive English, only my third language)

Right now, too many posts here are only about LA. Continuous trolling, jokes about him (pretty hilarious ones, I admit), discussion of his doping past, bashing of pro-Lance posters, and so on. Only thread which I am closely following is the thread in Clinic about Nowitzky's investigation.

As for me, I stay pretty neutral(or, let's say, he is quite a complex person, just like all of us and it's not fair to think about him only as a symbol of Absolute Evil and cancer of cycling) on LA, unlike some anti-Lance zealots like TFF or BroDeal. I respect him for battling against cancer, and disrespect for being a doper, a fraud, and for his sociopathic behavior.

It seems to me that too many posters here (anti-Lance) will suffer (after the retirement 2.0) from "LA's absence syndrome". They just need him as an object of hatred.

I expect (hope) it will return to the same place it was during the Vuelta last year and the Giro this year. People talking about racing, having some fun and no 3WFs every bloody where. Oh and one or two rabid aussies, but they are kind of cute in small numbers.

armstrong's antics last year seriously pissed me off and i went from not caring, being almost neutral, to 'tffed' :)p). dont regret that at all.

once he steps down, if he ever will, i'll go back to neutral and celebrate other more deserving cyclists who will fill the space texas usurped.

I can't see the problem. The legal case will go on for years and the clinic won't be quiet until the last of Shack's riders have been caught.

On the other side Cav will be around for many years to come, and I really can't see him becoming less of an a$$ anytime soon.

What will happen when Lance retires? People will keep talking about him. And other people will tell them to stop. It will be hard to determine which is more annoying.

You can count on relevant conversation about him in the clinic though, in regard to the Novitsky investigation. There you can be assured it will be the fanboys trying to quiet the discussion.

English is my third language as well and so far I have to say that noone seems to be to bothered with my language. :)

I wonder how long he will keep up the twitter,he may find other things to write about than his preparations for TdF. :D
I wont miss him much though,or the threads about him.
I lost a great deal of respect for him after the behaviour in the 2009 TdF towards Contador.

No worries about your communication skills. Your writing actually makes more sense than about 70% of the retards that support Lance....only kidding fanboys =o)

I think a lto of the members are going to disappear after Uniballer goes to jail. Actualy cycling fans will remain and I think discussion is going to be more pro racing oriented.

I am still going to hate Uniballer :) and will keep making jokes about him..
