Sounds like he is calling time on his road career at the top level. Riding for an Australian domestic team and aiming for the Olympics and the hour record. Maybe he might end up coaching in Australia but his road career seems over at World Tour level. Has had his share of health problems as well over the years.

Bobridge's head just wasn't in the game at Belkin, his arthritis was playing up and he got married and had a baby last year. It's probably a smart move to come home, clear the head, focus on a long term goal and build back up.

If he continues this improvement, Bobridge will get another WT ride after the Rio games.

If you read about what happened during that 'alcohol related incident', it's really nothing. Could have been any young adult. His arthritis is probably a (much) bigger problem.

He always rides well in Australia, doesn't matter for which team. But as soon as he lands in Europe, he loses his legs.

That is because of his arthritis, in hot weather he can still put in good rides, but when its colder he suffers much more from the arthritis. For example he rode really strong in Cali last year, even on terrain that doesnt really suit him but the hot weather was in his advantage.

My mail is that he was drinking when he wasn't supposed to be and that's why Garmin had enough of him, same reason why OGE had enough of him and Belkin his attitude didn't change so no one wanted to take him on. So he decided to focus on Rio.

Bobridge went out far too hard, much harder than Voigt and Br?ndle. If he paced himself better he would have set a new mark I think.

This is BS, as Garmin offered him a new contract (according to Vaughters), and at Greenedge he asked for a termination of his contract as it wasn't finished yet.

Ruudzor's point is probably closer to the truth: he can't ride in European weather because of his arthritis. He's also not as big a talent as some would have him be.
