i think we need a discussion on if the riders should have the right to not wear the helmets on the MTF's again...i'm curious...
still can't imagine pantani riding up to alpe with the helmet on...plus it's the off season.i would start a poll but i hope someone else will do it,i'm not good at these things

Pantani was always wearing a helmet. A meat-helmet.
Sometimes even a bandana or sunglasses to protect the helmet.

Discussion always good. But that might provocate all the people who know for sure that you can even hurt yourself by doing equilibrium exercises or "Stehversuche".

Yatesy is unmistakeable, but is that Deno Davie with him?

I've been wracking my brain trying to identify that rider and I'm still not entirely certain but I think that could well be Deno. The headband is Deno Davie all over come to think of it and he rode for Carrera I think.

I've had to smile that some contributors have called the racing "brutal". If you think today's racing is brutal then you haven't been around very long.

Climbs there are so steep they "Flatten out" to 11% and where the motos fall. Climbs like the Punta Veleno! :D

Actually; I have a term for those climbs; PDFS which stands for Pretty Darn F***ing Steep.

As well as all the drama and pagentry of the pro tour, one of the things that attracts me is the knowledge that you can do it. Jump on a plane tonight and you can go ride some of the big climbs tomorrow, and all of them in June.

What other sport allows you to do that? You want to play football at Wembley, baseball at Fenway, or cricket at the MCG? Dream on. If you want to ride Mont Ventoux, pack your bags and imagine you are Merckx in 1970.
