He should win a couple of Worlds, an Olympics, a couple of LBLs and Lombardias, Sanremo, San Sebastián, fluke his way to a Giro top 10 through breakaways in a weak field year, a flat stage of the Tour, a couple of GT points jerseys, have a go at six-day racing in the winter, then take over the role of coaching his national team and get in trouble for tax dodging.

why do you hate bettini?

High end Saronni's or Bettini's career. Low end is this stage wins when the A list sprinters are gone but no podiums at classics.

Edit: Saronni minus winning the Giro.

im thinking more freire/hushovd type than bettini/gilbert

gilbert sucked (or to be politically correct he didnt live up to expectations) for number of years before his breakthrough so anything is possible but sagan is faster than gilbert but not as good in steep short hills, aslo i dont believe he will ever go for GC in GTs

it will be fun watching him in coming years

He might win a nicer stage race than the Tour of Poland, if it has an easyish parcours + time bonii one year. Tirreno Adriatico, say. Among other things which I won't curse by mentioning.

Probably not decided yet by the team, though he'd mentioned Tour of Beijing in one interview in slovak newspapers.

Sagan & EBH are the youngsters who should challenge Gilbert next season in his races.

I don't think so. EBH perhaps, but Sagan.... I think that 'll take 2 to 3 more years. It's not like Sagan is already really close to Gilbert in those races, in the lengthy stuff, he's nowhere, which was confirmed when he turned out to be quite empty at the end of a ridiculously easy (but long) world championship.

He would be a lock for multiple green jersesys for the next 10 years if Prudhomme hadn't done this silly rule change this year

Well not at the moment he wouldn't. He certainly wouldn't of won it this year with the old rules. He certainty has the potential but he just wouldn't of finished high enough consistently on the flat sprints to be on contention. Also the ones were u would of thought he would gain points getting over climbs that most sprinters wouldn't they were break away stages and I doubt his team would of took responsibility for dragging it back
