Hushovd complaining again after todays sprint.

He's not good in the sprints right now, but he also has zero help from his teammates. I don't understand how hard it can be to have a few teammates around Hushovd in the sprints. If they have 2 or 3 guys to chase a strong breakaway for no reason, they should be able to help him in the sprints.

It's Cervelo test team. Not only do they test bicycles, they also test out different strategies such as 'Try to win sprints without a lead out train and without a sprinter'.

He has podiumed in all 3 gts. Vuelta 3 times including 2 seconds, giro once and tour twice. Hes got another 3 top 5 finishes and then another 4 top 10 finishes..
Or to make it easier to understand. Sastre in gts.
Top 10 –14 times
Top 5- 9
Top 3- 6
Top 2- 3
Top 1- 1

Sastre: more Cadel than Cadel!!

Cervelo should not have forced Sastre to ride the Tour. After a pretty serious back injury, with which he had suffered through the Giro, there is no way he could be anywhere near top form to start the Tour or in the third week either.

If they really were hell bent on making him ride the Tour, they should've targeted the KOM. He could've lost a whole bunch of time on Stage 3 to not be a GC threat, and he would probably have been let free by the other favorites. Then maybe Thor gets a little help from his team as Carlos goes after the Polka Dots by himself. I can't imagine a sponsor not liking their name on two jerseys in Paris. Now they'll have nothing to show for it as I don't think Thor will win Green, and Carlos has no shot at the KOM.

Swedish Eurosport interviewed a Cervelo mechanic (Swedish guy) during stage 3 and he told us that the whole team except one rider were told to help Thor on that stage. One rider to ride with Sastre. And they won that stage, so well done there. But the rest of the tour has not been so good for Cervelo now that Thor has shown that he can't nail bunch sprints.

It's too easy for the team to say that since Hushovd wants to sprint from the wheel of Cav/Petacchi he doesn't need help in the finish. Just because you want to sprint from another sprinter's wheel doesn't mean that you don't need/want help in the last 20k to get that position. Spending energy fighting for positions and getting to the front of the field is something the rest of the team should do, not the sprinter.
