After 5 pictures in this thread I've become a fan of the guy.
First of all he goes so deep that he throws up then people show his geeky pictures... Love him allready. Should pay more attention to him and cheer for him as well.

I'm officially a fan as well. Seems like a top bloke.

Fans at the Tour Down Under pick an 'obscure' rider to support every year. Last season it was Angel Madrazo - http://www.cyclingtips.com.au/2011/01/angel-madrazo-the-2011-tour-down-under-obscure-pro/
The season before that was Arthur Vichot and this season was Wouter Mol.

Random comment; but why do so many cyclists have wonky teeth? I've mentioned in other topics about cyclists having high decay rates due to sugar gels etc etc but so many pro cyclists have wonky teeth. The british always get a slagging for their teeth but this seems to be a continental thing too!

After these uphill finishes to the Ardennes classics I would expect to see a lot of vomit as riders redline well past their anaerobic threshold. And yet despite the hordes of photographers I cannot find a shot of a pro vomiting in the finish area.

What gives?

People have different reactions when pushing past their anaerobic threshold. You often see Cadel Evans need someone to guide him after the finish because he loses vision after pushing so hard.

how is this guy not British? Angel Madrazo Ruiz looks more like a Tinsley Carlton Peabody

I think that is because he no longer has a wheel to follow.

Yep but the real problem is that on indoor tracks you can get banned for expelling liquids onto the track surface - snot spit vomit, whatever.

So you need handy towels for when you get to the infield. If you get a chance, have a look at the video of Chris Hoy's world record attempt. Ouch.

Well, frequent vomiting does accelerate tooth decay due to the acids, particularly when it's not washed out quickly to which is even more the case while on a ride.

ha - true!

Mind you, that would explain the need for fillings, not the need for construction engineers to get in there and realign everything :)
