An article on supposedly the big transfer mistakes of all time and absolutely no mention of the golden boy Frank!

You could write a whole second article just on the MULITPLE bad transfers he has been (and continues to be) involved in!

Unfortunately this type of factual error is extremely common in almost every cyclingnews article. A very sad truth.

EDIT: As for worst signings, surely the worst ever isn't even there. Freddy Maertens won around 50 races a season for years and years. Huge races. Then San Giacomo signed him. 27 years old and supposedly with his peak years still ahead of him. Yet a legend of cycling already.

He rode a full season for them without illness or injury, before being released.
He won absolutely nothing whatsoever.
