You would think Ayuso learns after signing such a long contract at UAE. Now he would sign again for 5 years…

It could be a case of Trek paying him the amount he had left on his UAE contract spread out over 5 years rather than 3. Then in 2 years time a new team can pay him the last 3 years of that contract spread out over another 5 years.

Lidl-Trek is an horrible choice for Ayuso, even if they have CG ambitions they also have Pedersen and Milan, they are not going to give full suport to Ayuso.

Movistar may not have the money to sing him, but Ineos would be perfect as a team who prioritize CG and they have the money.

Ayuso is relatively young rider with already proven record of both stage and GC wins. So basically he is eligible to just about any team bar UAE. On top of that Visma and RBH are somewhat packed with quality leaders the rest do have options but IMHO wouldn't mind an extra option. So outside signing for lets say Visma and RBH Ayuso will be requested to lead from the get go, a position he so much desires, at Visma and RBH he would need to compromise to some extent.

There's Tiberi, Martinez, etc. who could be brillant in some days then grope the much-needed form in some other days. From a sporting perspective I would suggest Lidl or Ineos. Both Teams can offer a very good time trial set up, which is needed to win Stage races. And they can offer very good domestiques. So if he wants to compete for a GT GC (which I think he can) this would be the best options. Also for us fans this would be very entertaining seeing the best riders spread across more Teams.

Movistar would be a okish Team that can offer good domestiques but do have a big gap to the top Teams reagarding TT Specialists, nutrition etc.

i don't think Sylvan Adams will want to take a chance on him, after all his recent sufferings.

Seems like a natural fit at Movistar, though they’d need to be prepared to make other investments to keep the prince happy. Based on the MAL, Valverde/Landa/Quintana circus, he’d fit in culturally.

Ineos could definitely be a fit, especially given that Bernal seems to have plateaued and is not on the way to competing for GT victories as it stands. They need a leader to rally around.

I hope not Lidl-Trek. They should focus on getting Mads his cobbled classic IMO, and Ayuso will be on big distraction with dubious return.

There really isn’t an option other than Movistar. Can’t see any of those other teams feeling like the juice is worth the squeeze. Movistar wants/needs a Spanish learner for GC, which is unique amongst the potential teams.
