Oh I don't know, Jacques Anquetil was quite honest in his doping and saw that it was necessary in order to compete so much. But yeah, obvious Armstrong is obvious. But a better poll question would have been, 'Aside from Lance, who is the greatest doper of all time?'

First thing, it's Merckx not Merck.
Second, "I would have doped".......... not...Greg 'I would of doped if I knew' LeMond.
But good try, you somehow got LeMond involved in a greatest dopers poll despite the absence of any corroborating evidence.
The check is in the mail.

LeMond. If I was you I really wouldn't want to start anything because I've already made Raceradio, theHog and velodude look like fools despite my 20 something posts. But if you want to be entertainment for me go ahead.

Oh hey it's Mr Bro 'Guilt by Association' Deal. I'm glad we live enlightened times but I'm not so sure you do.

I vote this the stupidest poll I have yet seen on CN!

The greatest dopers are quite likely the dead ones.

Then, still alive, there is Roberto Pistore : half the CN forumers are better cyclists than he ever was, yet, how many of us have finished 4th in a Giro d'Italia?

But he is not in your list.

Since you try to slander LeMond, why not include Bassons, Delion, Moncoutié, Bahamontès, ... in your stupidest list?

One horse race - Armstrong.

Organized doping on a higher professional level.

Team funding of doping program through money laundering as opposed to individual rider responsibilities.

Bullet proof to AAF's through being the only rider to have "donated" to UCI to avoid positives. Likewise, team riders were also impervious.

In his team CEO capacity in 1998 personally recruited a team DS, Johan Bruyneel, with a doping background with the disgraced ONCE team.

Exclusively engaged the "preparation" services of sports top doping medico, Dr. M Ferrari. (Former Postal/Motorola doctors, Dr. Max Testa & Dr. Prentice Steffen, were opposed to doping)

*Eddy Merckx losses because he was busted at that Giro in 70 something or other or was it the late 60's? (Too lazy to go find out)

*Jacques Anquetil, basically admitted to it so off the list as well.

So that leaves:

Lance 'Most tested Athlete' Armstrong
Fausto 'La Bomba' Coppi
Miguel 'Silence is Honesty' Indurain
Greg 'I would of doped if I knew' LeMond

Merckx wasn't a heavy taker or something for his time. Just look at Zoetemelk, they were all doing the same. Luckily at that time, it was more about talent than what medical program you were on anyway.
