He will most likely ride for the new team from Luxembourg. At least that is my guess. He has said it will be announced in a couple of weeks, the same time when everything about this new team will be announced. So I simply don't think the timing is a coincidence...

I have to say it will be team Schleck, he has a lot of past experience with a lot of the riders who have said that they are joining the team (much of Saxo Bank). From the sounds of it Team Schleck also have a fair bit of money to throw around.

It would be nice to see him go to a team like Pegasus however i don't think that he will go to a team that is not certain of obtaining pro tour. Schlecks team is the same however has a lot more high profile riders so will get invites to most races even without pro tour license.

My guess is BMC, because at BMC it's highly likely he will be able to do exactly as he wants with his season. At team lux he would still need to play second fiddle to andy, and thus support him in the tour.
Or he just want to go with his friends to lux to win some classics and help andy get in yellow.
Gonne be exiting nonetheless and especially if he gives reasons for his choice.

Yeh I think team Lux.

They will send him tot he Classics he wants to ride ... with some support, and in return he will support Andy in the Tour, (especially with TTT's and the like)

I was wondering not where I think he'll go but where I'd like him to go. Where would you like him to go.

Edit: I have problems choosing the subject around which to construct my sentences

Based off a comment he made about setting himself up for life after cycling, I'd guess BMC. Mind you he could just as easily be talking about a DS role at Lux. Pegasus are no chance, nothing more than a team owner answering a non-cycling journo's question about big names available, then run with by bloggers.

cancellara is the only cyclist that any team wants.

the thing is, he has to chose.

in my opinion, if he goes to bmc, he can win the classics (maybe LBL xD), 3 to five stages at the tour if he doesnt have to work (2 tts and flat\hilly (a little)) and then work for the worlds. if he is in great form at the tour, without having to work, good luck htc and lotto (gilbert)..

Cancellara will ride for...

I'd bet on BMC for these reasons:
A) Andy Rihs has very deep pockets and would dearly love to have THE Swiss champion of champions on his team.
B) Fabian has, in the past, expressed some uh..shall we say DOUBTS about the Shlecks and their ability to put together an effective organization.
C) Fabian is a Swiss and extremely proud of that. I have to believe that he'd prefer being on a real Swiss team (forget about where they are registered).
D) BMC will build him any bike he wants. He's a TT specialist and he's going to be looking for an hour record soon. BMC can give the equipment to do it.
E) He would be the main man at BMC
F) More stay at home time
The ONLY negative I can see for him is a possible tax hit, and I'm sure a smart Swiss can deal with that.
Grumpy

I do wonder if Specialized will stump up the cash to keep him in their stable and he will go to Astana or HTC

The man's only 29. He's still got plenty of good years left in him before he needs to be thinking about life after cycling. I think he'll go to team Shleck just because he wants to stick with the riders, managers, etc. who are moving from saxo to shleck.

Afterthought: If he went to BMC he'd be a teamate of Taylor Phinney... what a combo! Phinney could learn a lot from him!

I'm hoping for BMC because I think that would be more interesting to watch and the Tour will be a bit more fun if Andy loses some time in the TTT. But, seeing as Schlux has said they will have a strong TTT I think there is a good chance that he has in fact chosen that team instead.

I was quite sure that it will be Team Lux until I heard that he lately tested Scott bikes (Pegasus).

Looking forward to his announcement.

What's the reported budget for the Lux team?

Frank and Andy will take up a sizable portion of any teams budget (they will definatly be upgrading from the contracts Riis had them on, that's for sure) and Canc isn't going to be riding for penunts either.

From what Nygaard has said it seems that the budget grows if he needs more money. If a really good signing shows up then the sponsor will throw in the needed money. He has said that the sponsor has already done that ones: Cancellara?
