Rihs sit on the money, Andy doesn't. Brian Nygaard controls the signings with the riders not Andy. Andy has probably wished some riders to Nygaard but Nygaard can't tell Andy what he discuss with possible signings. If I'm not wrong then that should be confidential until the parts agree on something. Of course I don't know this for sure but I would think there are limits for how much power the Schlecks have on the team. Thats where I see the difference in their comments.
Judging on the fact that Cancellaras official holiday has started and he has went somwhere nice and warm according to his twitter, then I'm pretty sure he has signed something. He is not too occupied with his future at the moment it seems.

I stil rule out BMC and I still think it will be Lux but I don't dare to rule out Pegasus or Sky. I see the reasoning in that he might not go to Lux because Andy still said what he said:eek:
So you are saying that Andy would not have a clue about where FC is going to be in 2011?

He thought Fabian would be on BMC. I find B. Nygaard's behavior towards the whole Cancellara thing interesting. He talks like he got something up his sleeves.

I also found Kim Andersen's reaction to the TdF TTT interesting, he was quite happy about it and said it suited his team. Maybe he meant it as the lesser of two evils (better a TTT than an ITT) or it's because they'll have a kick-as* line-up for the TTT. So far it looks promising, with Posthuma, Voigt and O'Grady for example, but by far not the best.

Also luxembourgish newspaper wort.lu claims to have exclusive insider knowledge that Cancellara will join the Schlecks. It might be false but they are a serious newspaper, so I think we can assume that they didn't just make it up.

Cancellara seems to be a good friend of the Schlecks (he was at Fränk's wedding, for example), but if he joins their team he'll most likely assume the same role he has had for years at Saxo Bank, whereas he proclaimed his will to change into a GC rider.

The suspense is killing me!!

If FC goes to team lux, then I think that with a dominant performance in the ttt (as they would have an awesome team) that could eventuate that they would take they yellow jersey quite early.

I was also considering that - it would be too early for them.

I was just thinking - imagine if he went to Liquigas or Lotto .... goodness, either one of those would dominate from beginning to end of the season.

Lotto? who do they have for Gts. I dont see VDB as a gt threat and even if he was thats just 1 gt. Besides, real conflict of interests having Canc and Gilbert on same team. Gilbert Ardennes and Lombardy specialists who wants to win cobbles. Canc cobbles specialist who wants Ardennes and Lombardia.

No I didn't say that. I just said that I think that Andy has less to do do in the negotiations with other riders than Rihs has. Andy is a rider on the team not sponsor, SD or manager. But Andy could still know, I don't know if he does. Right now the behavior from both Kim Andersen and Brian Nygaard send Cancellara to their team. Andys comment doesn't fit in that picture and send him somewhere else

He is not going to BMC according to Andy Rihs. Sky has been mentioned but a page like cyclingfever has not even linked him to sky as a rumour and that link is mainly because they got money. The safety net Cancellara talks about I can't really see on Pegasus besides if he gets his mechanic and sognieur with him. The only detail that doesn't point towards Lux is Andy Schlecks comment.

I hate waiting:eek: Can we get some news soon?

To Team Lux:

I thought BMC, Cycling Quotient seem moderately confident of that outcome, so I jumped on the band wagon...

However:

recent comments attributed to FC indicate that TL is likely outcome. FC appears to place significant emphasis on his friendships and familiar environment, so...

Have jumped on TLband wagon!

Like everyone else I await the outcome with bated breath :):D.

Have you read this article (first on CN)

http://www.cyclingnews.com/news/pegasus-sports-optimistic-for-protour-place

"We've got some great announcements to make over the next couple of weeks and between now and then we're waiting for the UCI to decide on the ProTour." - Chirs White

Come to Pegasus, Fabian! I am putting my head on the line and saying he is going to Pegasus!!!!

Does that mean we can take your head when he goes elsewhere?

They may throw money at him for the TdF TTT as much as anything. Him, Wiggins, G, Edvald Haagen-Daas and Token Others would destroy the best that Team Fuentes Training Plans could come up with.

And he is apparently wanting to hit LBL quite hard next year and skip PR and Flanders. I think its fair to say his priorities have changed for next year and they wouldn't interfere with other Sky riders.

However, I still think he is going to HTC

He should go to Sky and ride a nice shiny Pinerello.
Its clearly between the Lux team and Sky. Pegasus are talking themselves up but it wont happen for them- keep dreaming.
I haven't heard the stuff with HTC but I find that unlikely.

Would he really want to go to HTC? They'd give him leadership for the entire spring but they'd expect him to tow the entire peloton for 90% of the flat TdF stages.

Can't wait to see him get dropped by Gilbert.

Although Team Lux would have a lot of his mates in it I wonder whether the current lack of sponsor announcement would put him off and the lack of guarentee they would be Pro Tour

BMC certainly have the cash, but would he fit into their current rostrum well? I think so, but he may also be waiting to see if they get Pro Tour status, which I would be surprised if they didn't. Personally I reckon he will end up here over Team Lux

I appreciate that people are saying HTC are out of the question, but they have space and the cash and are pretty much guarenteed a pro tour spot, as other have said he would pretty much get to ride the spring season of his choice without conflicting with Mark Cavendish (who has said in interviews he would like to give some of the other classics a go and ride for someone else for a change). All HTC would ask for in return would be the TdF and to work for Cavendish, how would this differ from going to Team Lux, where he would work for the Schlecks or BMC where he would work for Cadel?

I really can't see him going to Pegasus just too many uncertainties at present with them.

My vote therefor is out of the current front runners is BMC; but wouldn't be surprised if he ends up somewhere like HTC.

Again apparently he thinks he can do it by dropping 3kg...

In his first ever try? I highly doubt it.

Oh well, let him, I don't mind. I'm a Boonen fan anyway, so if Canc doesn't do Roubaix or Vlaanderen then we know Boonen will win at least one of them. Perhaps both now that leecher DeVolder is finally gone.
