Chris horner - gc for radio shack

I have been watching RS now for the past few years.

And form what I have observed Chris Horner is hands down their best rider. He was better then Armstrong, always is better the Levi and Klodi.

I am at a loss as to why they do not make him the leader.....the man guy.

He is a great guy as well....well spoken.

Perhaps I am missing something??

He ripped the field apart in TOC yesterday. I will likely do it again at the end of the week.

Levi is done......time he go back to his domestic duties and help out his friend.

Any additional insights?

Go Chris GO.......I personally believe you could win the TDF is given the correct support.

I hope he's joking. I can't see Kloeden, Horner and Leipheimer working for this guy, when a couple of them have had better and more consistent results.

I can agree about Kloeden and Horner...but Levi is pathetic and done! He looked like crap yesterday...little weasel never puts his nose in the wind..and yesterday got exposed...think his mangina cramped??

The riders who are "resting": Kloden and Brajkovic.
Cali is Horner's payoff for this year, since the German took Vasco.
I think the Shack management would be torn by the prospect of having a 39 year old American win a TDF.
Then again, maybe I'm reading to much into that scenario.
Given Leipheimer's form this season, he'll be lucky to be reserve bottle.

Don't we already have a RadioShack GC thread? Saw it pop up today, this one should be merged.

Well... I don't know that Cali is Horner's payoff... I think he'll be the leader at the Vuelta too (a helper in the Tour).

Brajkovic, Kloden and Leipheimer will be peaking for the Tour I think (unless Levi has lost it and what we're seeing at California is his new peak). If any of them ride the vuelta it will either be for press... or because they crashed out early at the Tour.

I'm hoping Horner is the primary for the Vuelta with maybe Machado as the second option.

I think he made himself the leader yesterday. He went, Levi and the rest couldn't hang, and he said, screw this, I'm getting too old and not much time left to waste on guys like Levi.

Baldy should be a heck of a day, we will see what happens.

Levi has no shot at the GC after yesterday, only if RS makes Horner stay back to help, but that is stupid. Levi might be their guy, but if the team has a shot at victory, the conversation on the bus has to be, Horner FTW. Levi and management needs to say, hey, Horner had it, Levi doesn't (supposed to be in top form right now by the way).

Should be some drama, and interesting to see how/if Schleck responds on the mountain, and the TT should be important also. Schleck's TT has improved and he is working on it, whether the top guys can do enough on the climbs and TT to overcome the time gap, should make for some good racing.

I'd be even shocked is a guy like Brajkovic-with no GT record- drops AC & ASchleck in the mountains:eek:-so realistically it should be Kloden to take command and do his last TDF in a high note.

I think they should try aim to get someone, anyone up in top 8. Machado, Popo, JB, LL, Kloden, Horner, could all be leaders. They coud also get a stage probably the TTT, if they get Sergeant, Kwiatoski and Zubeldia/Rast or McEwan in.

What really made my day was watching the replay of the stage on steephilltv and seeing Horner seemingly riding tempo for Leipheimer. Leipheimer in his typical hunkered down nose-to-the-stem position, cozy in the womb of Horner's draft, when upon overtaking I believe Sutherland, Leipheimer loses his wheel! Horner continues on dropping both of them and takes the stage.
In the entire time leading up to Sutherland, Leipheimer never takes a turn, it's always Horner. Horner dropping him was poetic justice for me.
