He seems to do best on the single mountain stages (mtt and his stage win in the giro, while being less good on the multiple mountain stages), and he is pretty explosive. Doubt he will be able to follow a JRod on the short hills, but not worse than Froomester, and probably better than Quintana

Well, you have to put him up there anyway. he has been second twice in the Giro and you just saw what happened in the Tour.

Just like other contenders that have no chance either. Even less than Uran.

If Valverde had not been given leadership for Le Tour, Quintana wouldn't have won the Giro, because he would have not gone there in the first place. Valverde did not demand to be team leader, also, for the record.

Quintana has his chances, obviously, but it's not going to be a walk in the park.

Lol what? Some people really try their best to vilify Valverde. He asked for leadership, he was given it due to his status within the team - one last chance to aim at a Tour podium finish. He didn't demand it.
