Meh. These kind of incidents, are, unfortunately, par for the course in the history of humanity. There is nothing really new or different here, nor is this any kind of indicator of where the world is going.

This is a case of fairly typical moronic punks engaging in a particularly stupid and dangerous prank, this time in context that is getting world focus. Let's not blow things out of proportion.

Good points. In many ways, race fans are much better behaved than they were in the past. Merckx getting punched in the gut is an obvious example. I remember when a foreign rider on his way to victory in an Italian race would be rewarded by the tifosi with showers of vinegar and spit. Personally, I'll take an occasional stray BB over Uncle Paolo spewing partially chewed pistachios and cheap wine spit in my face any day.

Exactly. Theft, Thuggery, Hooliganism, Murder, etc. it's a constant in society. The murder rate in a lot of first-world countries has been stable for 500 years.

I agree kids have always done stupid things, a bb gun to some kids is merely a toy. they probably have broken a few windows with it and thought they would stir things up.
