For $250K/year all this could have been avoided, and FLandis would have notched some premium wins for the team in the process.

Somebody didn't make their payment, perhaps arrogantly believed (though we'll wait and see, depending on if the accusations are held true by the authorities) they need not worry about the man's inside knowledge of how things really took place and what actually happened.

Indeed a decent contract would have solved much. I think, by now, the Hog and Pharmstrong, however, thought that they lived with impunity. Were untouchables.

PS. In fact in today's Gazzetta dello Sport it was noted that there was a possible deal in the making to bring Landis on-board at Radio Shack. Something must have gone foul...
