Not my point. Your point was that you are somehow superior in reference to these things because we are all non-pro wanna-be couch surfers with no right to post.

As for comparing records off-line, I am sure that your cycling record is far superior to mine. Wanna cookie? Heck. maybe you can best me in every endeavor we choose. So what? As far as I can discern, I don't care what your opinion is of my right to post anything I choose.

Understood.

To concede that Armstrong dopes yet lies about it, is a deceiver and an egotist yet still claim to be his fan is really quite foolish. Let's not mistake liberty for relativism.

By all means persist with the infatuation just don't expect much respect for such judgement.

I don't get this 'you're never a pro, your opinion doesn't count' posture. Novitsky was never a pro, does his opinion not count a whole lot?

Berkeley was at pains to defend the opinions of children if they spoke the truth.

It appears all of the fanboys gravitate to smoke and mirrors....

.....(for brevity).... I am also perfectly fine with being a hypocrite. I am certain that it is the one trait we all carry as humans.

I genuinely think the whole of this post is an example of what well formed, and reasoned debate should consist of...I know that may surprise some....but I do....so I am glad that some of this thread is back in interesting territory.

and please let me know if you have no intention of reading the PM I am inclined to send you....If so i will save us both the time:D

Yea, PM away. I'd be more than happy to converse in a more direct manner.

In the end, the only opinions that will matter are those on the jury. In California, I'm sure they'll be a bunch of fat-asses who've never been on a bicycle.

And I'm sure the courts get right on it as soon as they conclude the Barry Bonds case! Oh wait....

Despite the best efforts of Bonds attorney to delay Bond's case will be coming to trial early next year.

I can't wait for the McCarthy-style witch hunts to begin.
Thats going to be some great drama right there. Hours of fun for all the cycling forums.
All the anti LA troops will be squeeling with joy, while the fan boys will be wringing their hands and moaning in despair.
Things will be sooooo much better after the inquisition has burned a few heretics.:D

While you conjur the image of Joe McCarthy you actually emphasize what could make this investigation different than Bonds, Clemens...politics. Baseball and NFL protection does make them harder and less popular targets for a deeper institutional prosecution. Cycling would be an easier sacrifice to make a point and this probe may net some results on that distinction: no one cares about cycling. USADA can make the case about drugs, distribution and fraud without sacrificing any sacred and very profitable cows.

I've wondered this - there's a lot of people on these forums who don't like Lance for exactly the reasons you mention above, yet in the next sentence talk about how much they like Vino. I don't understand the difference myself...

A lot? Sounds like a strawman....

What is the term I am looking for...hmm......no, not that....AHH YES!!...wanna-be! Yea, that is what I was looking for. Funny, your comment made it seem like you were in a position to know what you are talking about.

Understandably, no one has ever made the same mistake about you.

It's a helmet, very useful in sniper fire.

The singular event which led to the great downfall of the legendary Ninja Warrior Cats was their inability to appreciate the lack of protection afforded by their world-renowned, hand-crafted melon helmets: helmets which symbolized their humble agrarian beginnings and that had stood the test of time and served them faithfully over the millenia, but which proved sorely deficient upon the advent of steel...
