why two sets of news headlines on home page 2nd column?

Listing news headlines twice ont he home page is repetitive. I prefer the "news edition" type of listing, like it was on the old site (with multiple headlines lumped together). Repeating the headlines twice (once alone, then again as part of the news edition) is distracting and confusing. You've already got a few headlines highlighted in the huge graphic thing (which is too big)--no need to highlight all of the news headlines individually when you have that huge graphic thing and the news editions also there.

I agree, one bulk news page is best (and allows for sneaky reading at work far better than clicking on multiple links ;) )
