I simply can't believe that. No cyclist has ever been able to do that in a single season. And all of a sudden we have a 32 y.o. ex-pistard "epic rider" who climbs like Contador and TTs like Cancellara and doesn't seem to reach his peak.
The higher he (and Sky) gets, the bigger the fall will be. I'll be waiting for that.
What a shame this sport has become
Arnout said:I would edit this post or move it to the clinic.
Arnout said:It's with gritted teeth, as I don't like his personality, his style of riding (well, in TT it's ok, uphill not) and his way of riding (defensive), but what a season for Wiggins. This season's Gilbert and that's maybe an insult to Wiggins.
sartoris said:I wouldn't. It's just an opinion. No need to take offence, man.
Arnout said:Well I don't. Thing is, if Susan sees this, you won't see this forum for some time.
sartoris said:Take it easy, Arnout. Freedom of speech. Didn't insult anyone. Just because my view is different to yours (which I do respect) you just don't have to act policeman round here.

you made me laugh ! Let's leave it here and have a g'day, mate!Arnout said:Thanks for putting my name in bold, I'm not worthy.
Once again, I don't care about accusations but I do care about your message, because this is disrupting discussions and will attract anti-trolls. I'm not a policeman, I just warned you of the consequences. There is freedom of speech, but this is the same as showing pornography in an elementary school. Well, sort of. Technically, it's not illegal, but it is annoying.

The Cobra said:WOW! We all knew it was coming but its still awesome to witness.
Only thing left for Brad now, win the Tour of Britain, then smash the Worlds TT and its a perfect season.

Howard Thomas said:I suppose retiring without defending 'anything' would not be in his nature, but I was conscious of his wish to spend more time at home with his family. Despite my earlier comment, perhaps he would be content to be 'knecht' to Froome next year.
Winterfold said:Another amazing day out. Watched at the corner in Cobham then on the big screen once Spartacus had been through.
Hordes of people who were not interested in cycling previously out to watch and Sir Wiggo delivers.
Maybe this means I get spat at less when training, people are more patient with road races, and they dont see how close they can get when doing a TT on a dual carriageway - we can dream eh

The Tour de France is over, the Tour of Britain is about to begin!
