I'LL REPEAT:
It is a lot easier to win a world championship on track than on road or mtb.Even if he hasn't won as many races he has always been 2nd, 3rd,4th in the big races. Cadel may find that annoying that he has always been close but his record and consistency is excellent. He has lacked a little bit of luck in those races were he has come 2nd, 3rd, 4th. you may not like him but you can't deny that he is a great bike rider always there with the best.

I'll repeat, winning a Jr Mountain Bike WC is much less impressive than winning several PROFESSIONAL track titles, and OLYMPIC gold medals.

The funny thing is that Cadel is on the down slope and you guys just cannot seem to wrap your head around the fact that his best years (the mediocre ones) are behind him.

Are two seconds at the Tour de France more impressive then a 4th? I think that Cadel will be alright once he gets a team around him. I think a move to Radioshack would benefit his career. Also I wouldn't call Cadel's years mediocre, he was one of the top 5 GC riders in the sport (something that Wiggins will never be) on a terrible team. He had some good performances and is no doubt the greatest Australian cyclist of all time.

So he can carry water bottles for The Uniballer? Actually, you are on to something, because that team will be filled with a bunch of "almost was" riders who can stuff their shirts with 20 bottles. I'll bet the closest they will come to actual competition is seeing who can stuff the most.

Past that, I hope there are Australian's who aspire to more than Cadel has accomplished.

He will have a great team around him as leader in every race except the Tour de France and the other four races Lance Armstrong will want to race in. What does he have to work with at Silence-Lotto right now. Discovery won a whole lot more then the Tour de France when Armstrong was around. Johan Bruyneel does a better job of finding and building young riders then anyone in the sport by far.

Well if they bring Levi, Horner, Andreas, and add Cadel it might be an older team then they are used to but a great team non-the-less.

With that line-up, you have to bring on Metamuciltm on as a presenting sponsor. You also might consider AARP, and Life Alert. Gotta say that Life Alert is much better than Road ID for old people. I mean, Road ID can't relay the message "I've fallen and I can't get up."

I also believe that men of their age can get a TUE for Viagratm.

brads had a fourth in what is effectively his first year on the road... give him time...

not sure i would have cadel as the greatest australian cyclist of all time... in fact i think youre mad... robbie, 3 green jerseys, 24 major tour stage wins.. stuey's record is pretty impressive as well... and of course phil anderson, first non european EVER to wear the yellow jersey..

cadel is NOT the greatest australian cyclist of all time..
