I thought it was pretty clear???

Fear obviously means i expect Froome to gain a lot of time.
What on earth do you mean with the following part? I'm a cycling fan, thats why i dislike that weird Sky dominance. Clinic related issues aside. And finally a true enthusiast should be eager for real racing, only a Sky enthusiast would be happy with one rider dominating the TTS and the mountains and his teammade dropping the whole peloton. I would't mind Frooeme or Sky winning in general, but the way they perform ruined last years Tour and at least threatened this edition in the same way.

You're welcome.

As you have discounted the clinic, what is 'weird' about Sky dominance? You object to 'the way they perform'. What on earth do you mean? I see excellent team work and good preparation. What do you see that there is to object to?

Just curious if you don't mind me asking, what do you feel about Contador's GT dominance in 2007-2011? Nibali's dominance in this year's Giro? Thanks.

Well as you should have read, i didn't mention any thoughts, as to why they are so far ahead. But where's the problem, that i dislike that huge gap between Froome and the rest? Thats what i expressed.

Sky is hardly the only team that prepared professionally for the tour, nor have they invented teamwork into cycling.

But why do you hope for this and 'fear' the last (I mean - 'them skyborgs' - really!) and what on earth motivates you with these views about people you do not know? I don't understand why people have to associate themselves in this way. A true enthusiast does not care who wins, just that it's an exciting competition, surely?

This really baffles me. In many other sports and sporting events it's not uncommon to have a particular team or individual that you're rooting for and thus care who wins. Why is this so foreign to some people?

I enjoyed following every GT with Contador that featured excited racing and tough competition for GC. So obviously Tour 09 and Giro 11 weren't my favourite editions.

Nibali, i sympathize more and more with him. Especially since last years tour, because he was the only rider that attacked the yellow passionately.
His performance in the Giro was superb, his competition , with all respect, rather poor. I guess you know what i mean, and i don't have to explain any further. It was a pity that we saw so many routes changed and one stage cancelled.

All in all i didn't liked the Giro much.

Of course it is fairly common to have a particular sportsman or sportswoman that one supports. Is it common though, to hate one's favourite's rival so much as to insult the rival and the fans on a public forum and to make up derogatory names for them?

I'd like to think that it isn't, and it is just a few noisy and vocal minority that is doing it, and it is sad that everyone else has to tolerate it.

Agree with you mostly. How did you feel about Froome in Vuelta 2011?

Sorry man, if that's the problem, i can edit that for you. I'm far from hating any rider or individual that i involved in this race. I can't even think of one person i actually hated in my whole life. I hope this solves something for you.

is there anything wrong with the poll result? just @ 64% in favor of froome.

leads me to ask, what is exactly meant by "dominate"?
Froome exerts control on others?
Froome maintains/increases his time gap?
Froome makes lots of attacks?

Forums however attract the vocal minority that have heavily invested their emotions into their favourite riders and see the need to insult their rival riders and fans to justify their fandom.

Very well said.

Biohazard is clueless about race tactics. He's a rookie. For the sake of cycling, he'll fail and be crushed to pieces by Alberto, Purito, Nairo and the peloton.

What? To ride up the mountains quicker then anyone else seems to be a very good tactic imho

Couldn't agree more. I trust 'impartial' enthusiasts of sport even less than I do people who don't drink :)

Surely the whole point of professional sport is to pick a team/individual:confused:

Otherwise, you're just watching some people getting fitter and wealthier than you could probably ever dream of

The only hope remaining for this race is that a grand anti-Sky/Froome coalition will take turns attacking the sh!t out of them in the Alps, col after col, and thereby prevent the inevitable Froome procession and 10 minute victory margin. Sadly, I rate the chances of such a coalition actually happening at maybe 5%.

I would have thought it was to enjoy the way the sport is played and so naturally favour team/individual who plays in that manner.

The only rider trying to win the Tour is Contador. Yes Froome is in the lead. But from what I see the rest of the feild is riding to defend there positions. WTF?

They Ride like this to defend there UCI Points. Attack! would you rather be 3rd or 10th? Who cares? Ride to win? I know there points determine heavily there salary but 4th or 9th? Cmon ride to win. Some Panache?

I agree - although I wouldn't dare put odds to the likelihood of such an effort. I think AC was trying to get Quintana going with him today. If somebody could have gone with AC - one of those jumps might have stuck. I'm not an AC fan, but I was doing the LaFlo dance today!

GO BERTIE GO!

I really want to see Froome brought to heel. Count on me cheering on every attack against Sky. There are still some opportunities after tomorrow, but if Froome is as dominant tomorrow? For now, I'll just hope he isn't.

The solution is to do as you and many others do, including myself, and that is utilizing the forum's ignore feature.
