Yesterday and today was a painful day for some of us i'm assuming. Is this it?
Can no one oppose them? A shark, the great one, purito...? Will they win them all?
eagleofditchling said:We Know the answer to this now - no. i still think they won't win any: after Nibali comes Contador and Valverde
JRanton said:Nibali pretty much wrapped up the Giro on Saturday. He's clearly the strongest, so trying to attack him when you're not feeling that strong yourself (Evans, Uran, etc) isn't a good idea and is likely to see you lose your podium spot.
Ironically, for all the fun that people have taken from Wiggins' demise we needed him to have a 2 minute lead after the time trial in order for the Giro to be a great race GC wise.

Angliru said:...or for them to have given Uran more freedom to ride his race when Wiggins first encountered "difficulty". The time Uran lost working for Wiggins put him in an insurmountable hole. They did try to send Henao up the road but I believe he was still suffering from whatever was ailing many of the riders in peloton and he wasn't able make a difference.
Gloin22 said:Valverde? Really? His domestique is better climber than him.
Froome is better in TT and as a climber. Only advantage Valverde has is he's better on those ardennes hills, but we wont see them at Tour.
Contador - cant' stay, he has to perform U-turn after shabby spring.
I think it's going be 2 podiums and Tour win, so it's not bad.
Their goal of winning all 3 GT's is a 3 year goal btw(We are in 1st year of that goal so far..)

eagleofditchling said:Didn't Valverde finish the Vuelta in front of Froome after both rode the TdF? Why would it be any different this year?
Gloin22 said:You gotta be kidding right? Rofl
Did you not watch Tour at all? Where did Froome finish and how much EFFORT he put in that Tour, compared to Valverde.
Even after that he was riding Olympics for Cav, and then ITT for himself winning Bronze while Valverde was relaxing and preparing for vuleta.
Anyway, I hope you bet lots of money on Valverde beating Froome then at GC in the Tour, good luck with that bet, I am sure you'll win plenty![]()
