I was just wondering because you recently also commented (positively in that case) on the looks of someone on the side of the road(was it during LBL?). But yeah, it's none of my business really.
So I can't hold the opinion that someone is attractive, and simultaneously not like they way Orla dresses (or they dress her) during a cycling telecast? Not sure I'm seeing the conflict. Like any other hetero male, I find some women attractive. I like women. I don't like when they dress them like skanks to get viewers, and let the guys show up in t-shirts. It's a professional situation, and she's got more to offer than her looks. If it's casual, great. Have everyone be casual. If it's more formal, great, have everyone dress more formally.

And since you're prying, been married 21 years next month. She looks pretty much like the (very classy-looking) roadside babe in LBL. A few years older, but still incredible.

Congratulations, hope you have at least as many years still to come :)

Orla looking...interesting...today. Bruises on the knees, trashy top. Personally prefer a classier look. They don't costume up the guys like they consistently do with her. I'm as much a dawg as the next guy, but...just don't need my cycling commentators to look like...well...I guess I'd better stop.

Orla picks her own clothes, as do the guys I guess, they dont have a stylist at Eurosport, so whilst as a woman of similar Gen X vintage as her & I often think theres no way in hell I could get away wearing that combo, I recognise thats my hang up.

and Im happy she is comfortable & confident wearing whatever the hell she likes

So your descending is subpar then? ;)

Great.

Didn’t get the joke but I’m an enduro mountain biker, so…
It’s become a minor forum meme started when (I already forgot which) rider in the recent Romandie ITT had a really poor split time for the rainy descent. In the post-ride interview he said that he has a beautiful wife at home and wasn’t going to risk his neck on the descent.
Was funnier in the moment :)

Should this thread be renamed to „Eurosport: Everything but the commentary“ to contrast with the other thread? I don‘t get how Orla‘s bruises lead to Hatch shutting up or not or influence his commentary. By the way, I think Hatch is too over-the-top when something is happening but just like most other commentators on GCN presents the race well before things start moving, although I do prefer Kirby when absolutely nothing is happening.

Sorry, I’m an intermittent poster at best…😀

She's a beautiful woman with poor taste in clothes and make-up that comes as across as desperate.
There are women the same age just as attractive that manage to look sexier than her but doing so quite naturally with more grace and style.

So she’s got her own fashion sense that I believe (though I can’t be sure) is her choice not the broadcasters. I understand is distracting or goes against some grain of propriety for some folks, but it’s 100% better than networks dolling up women news reporters (e.g., Fox news) specifically for sex appeal and of course all there’s the multitude of “weather girls” on display so we can get more depth in our meteorological understanding ;)

But that’s the point —She’s not necessary dressing for men, she’s dressing because it’s what she likes. And the fact that (I think) she’s a much better journalist than her cohorts should trump all that anyways.
