I'm not sure if this is quite the right thread for these hopes/predictions... but, here they are:
MSR: Surprise late entry Jonas Vingegaard follows Pogacar's attack on the Cipressa, then refuses to work with Pogacar afterwards. Unwilling to toe Jonas to the line, Pogacar sits up, setting up a win for Wout Van Aert! Many fans express disgust that Vingegaard did not ride with Pogacar.
Flanders: All-out battle between Pog and Van Der Poel.
Paris Roubaix: Thrilling stop/start duel with countless attacks by Pog, Van Der Poel and Mads Pedersen. No one can get away from the others, and we end up with a 4-man group sprint in the velodrome, won by.... Wout Van Aert! (The only one who had never attacked). Van Aert then announces his shock retirement during the victory celebrations, stating "it will never get better than this."
LBL: A fatigued Pogacar looks vulnerable, unable to distance Jorgenson, Roglic (surprise!) and Evenepoel. It comes down to a sprint between these four....
Giro D'Italia: An early echelons stage in Bulgaria leaves Vingegaard and Alemeida well behind other GC contenders, prompting both to race much more aggressively than usual. The pink jersey is traded back and forth between Pelizarri & Ciccone for much of the race, before Ciccone collapses in week 3. At the bottom of the last climb on Stage 20, Pelizarri, Vingegaard and Almeida are all still in contention....
Tour De France: Thrilling race for second, Vingegaard suffering several uncharacteristically poor stages that leave him behind in GC. Evenepoel, Ayuso and Del Toro all silence their doubters (to the extent that this is possible) with outstanding climbing performances throughout the Tour and particularly on stage 19. But, after all that Vingegaard comes through with a huge raid to win the stage and take 2nd in the GC.
Vuelta: Pogacar decides not to bother with it because winning would be too easy. It shapes up as a classic Roglic v. Enric Mas duel... but this time Enric Mas comes out on top!
Lombardia: Pog decides not to race (again, too easy, yawn... he's going to focus on prepping for a surprise debut Cyclocross season). Del Toro, Evenepoel and Seixas battle for the win.
