Gotta love how the Germans only nominate climbers in the Elite race and choose Behrens and Teutenberg in the U23. Shows how overstated the climbing has been in the Elite race conversation

Switzerland already making it hard. Lots favorites in good position. Seems a bit early to have already sacrificed Weiss and now also Fabio Christen already at the front.

This parcours is so much more selective in the rain than in dry weather just cause of the descents.

This weather :tearsofjoy:

64 riders left in peloton after 1 lap.

August and Artz 2 of the known names that aren't in there

Question for you Danes, is this a Søjberg Pedersen course? Or is he not that strong on the hills?

I'm not so sure, might be more a route for Dalby.
However, he said that maybe the hills are too short and explosive.
If that's the case, I don't have much hope for the Danes. Dalby seems a bit overrated, I think. He's been talking himself up in some interviews, and I haven't seen much from him that impressed me.

Now looking this route with espoirs hammering it.. Looks better for MVDP than I thought earlier, no? Well it's hanging in balance as mens race double the amount of climbs, but still.. And if raining even more for him.

Also thinking of Pidcock podium placing possible.
