Sounds like positioning is important.
There was an Irish rider who crashed right from the front of his group causing others to crash too
Sounds like positioning is important.
Exactly. In Leuven 2021 people were calling the route really dangerous because the juniors and U23s kept crashing, claimed the elite race would be just like it and then it ended up being perfectly fine. Just too many bad bike handlers in these age groups and that's going to show on any parcours that's even halfway technical. It's just a skill issue
I get it Rick, you think every parcours is great, it's fine.
Have you... read any of RR's posts?
And if they're not at the front they need to take a more conservative turn or risk a crash. It's a difficult circuit with a couple of corners, like North Frederick to George Square, where you need to be careful, but all the crashes I've seen (I did miss the start) have been people sliding out on corners they could have taken slower. Sliding out on a difficult corner because you are pushing it is part of racing. So basically taking more risks resulting in even more crashes? Not everyone can be on the first row.
I get it Rick, you think every parcours is great, it's fine. Don't have to state that every time someone complains about a parcours.
Belgium sitting there with 3 in the peloton but just giving the break 35 seconds for free again. Incredible. What is Gelders doing there.
Licking the wounds from his multiple crashes?
According to Rai he just caught up after crashing twice.Belgium sitting there with 3 in the peloton but just giving the break 35 seconds for free again. Incredible. What is Gelders doing there.

Segaert now riding hard to drop Gelders. He has been back for 2 laps. Was brought back by a car btw (or something with this bike because the live timing had him making up 3 minutes is one lap)

Atm it looks like Segaert might be stronger than Nys...If he doesn't do anything they won't even be back. Belgium made so many mistakes today, biggest one not being in that front group/letting that group go. Put Gelders or Segaert in there and you're chilling, but no they chose to just not be in the first 40 positions at the start of the race.
