It's his first ever top-9 - one-day, stage or GC - in a race that featured WT riders!I have to be honest, I had never even heard of that guy until today.

He didn't race Romandie, so no. Are you confusing him with Max Poole?Wasn't he in the mix up towards Thyon 2000?
so people still believe WVA can match MVDP power outputs?
and now the MTB worlds to make it complete?Cross Worlds - 1st
MSR - 1st
RVV - 2nd
PR - 1st
Worlds - 1st
And the biggest win of all, the Belgian Tour!
Not a bad campaign
Tbf WVA had a much more involved Tour and then had a baby. Not really as easy of a warm up for today.so people still believe WVA can match MVDP power outputs?
Rebus was set in Edinburgh. You might be thinking of Taggart.Glasgow was always for the Hard Men
ask inspector Rebus
Well he was out of the race at that point anyway, so it didn't really matter. A top 10 would of course not have been a bad result for him.
For a long stretch Mads and Van Aert rode while Pog skips turns??!Wout was the real wheelsucker today. Doing nothing at all once VDP got a gap and only saving for his last attack.
And threw in the best sprint lead-outs in the TDF, just as a little side hobby.Cross Worlds - 1st
MSR - 1st
RVV - 2nd
PR - 1st
Worlds - 1st

Pedersen’s solo was a lap before Bettiol’s. If he had gotten 30’’, it would have been his golden ticket. I think he did well to seek his winning path.
Welcome back, best poster of this forum.so people still believe WVA can match MVDP power outputs?
Matthew Dinham finished in 7th, not to bad for a neopro
I have to be honest, I had never even heard of that guy until today.
"Oops! I forgot Wout again!"MVDP remembering: "Oh no I've left my group behind, I knew I forgot something!"

It's only really cos of the length and lack of organisation in the teams. Turn that into a 200-210k one day with 7/8 man trade teams I reckon you get a sprint from a 40 man peleton. It's basically a lot like the Krylatskoye Ring, but more technical cos it's not purpose built like that was. There were no major climbs, it was just relentless, with corners all over the place and short ups and downs and never letting the settle into a rhythm for a sustained period of time at any point. It was always going to be selective and you couldn't truly figure out what type of rider it best suited until they either survived or didn't. I wasn't sure about it after the Commonwealths, but with the deeper field of a World Championships and the full distance that that entails, the strengths of the circuit really came to the fore.
