Maybe there is already a thread for this, but who knows anything about what is actually proposed for the re-organisation of the World Tour? I've only heard rumours of a shorter season that might impact the Tour Don Under, anybody know anything more? Or rumours?

I've heard a similar story. Something about that the WT season will start with Paris-Nice and end with Paris-Tours. And that Scheldeprijs and Paris-Tours will join the World Tour in order to make the point system more attractive for rouleurs, classics specialists and sprinters.

I personally think it's a good idea if so. Tour Down Under should be the main race of the Oceania Tour, not a warm-up race of the WT.

First thread I've ever started, and surprised about the lack of response. Is this topic off limits? Does Omertà rule? Does anyone know anything?

I agree, the Ph'nglui mglw'nafh Cthulhu R'lyeh wgah'nagl fhtagn is a brilliant race and deserves to also be in the WT.

Hope TDU stays, I like going there in the Summer and seeing some good riders, despite being a warm up race.

It can do that as 2.HC still

More one-day-races please! Include Strade Bianchi and Paris-Tours.

I would also have liked some additional hilly classics in the fall. Perhaps a reboot of Zurich Metzgete, or a new one day classic in Switzerland. And perhaps boost the status of one of the Italian semi classics. Make it longer, tougher and more hilly.

OK, I'll take a punt - the forgotten language of the Andalucian branch of the Lost Tribes of Wales?

It's the Atlantean language. Libertine is clearly from that place. ;)

Why not adding both Milano-Torino and Piemonte to the calendar? Having a couple of pre-races would only make Lombardia appear greater. The fall version of the Ardennes classics

But I agree with you about everything. The Canadian neo-classics have to go back to the America Tour. I'd prefer a traditionalist calendar with old, historic races for the WT.

In: Strade Bianche, Züri-Metzgete, Milano-Torino, Piedmonte, Scheldeprijs, Paris-Tours, a new warm-up race for the Vuelta (perhaps Burgos)
Out: Tour Down Under, GP de Québec, GP de Montréal, Vattenfall Cyclassics

Agree on removing those races, except Vattenfall. On new races, I would have liked an august classics season with big one day races on 3-4 consecutive weekends. For instance upgrading 1-2 of those Italian races. Upgraded versions of Giro del Veneto and Giro Dell Emilia could also be an alternative. Both these regions are very hilly. 230km+ races here could be great.

I agree with most of that list. But include Strade Bianche. That race is so unique. Having Omloop there would be cool too.

strade bianche and brabantse pijl, Hamburg too. either Piemonte/ Milano-Torino/ Emilia

did not expect Vuelta Burgos on the list. interesting

The Perfect UCI Tour:

Omloop
K-B-K
Nice
Bianche
Tirreno
San Remo
Catalunya
3DoDP
E3
Flanders
GW
Roubaix
Scheldeprijs
Pais Vasco
Amstel
Flèche
Liege
Romandie
Giro
Dauphiné
Suisse
Tour
San Seb
Poland
Burgos
Vuelta
Vattenfall
Milano-Torino
Piemonte
Lombardia
GP Q-F
Tours

Omloop doesn't just open the Belgian season, but the entire World Tour.
Kuurne–Brussels–Kuurne is also added.
Pais Vasco is placed after the classics season.
Three Days of De Panne serves as the opener of the classics season. There is added more cobbles to the stages.
E3 serves as a warm-up race to the Flanders.
GW is raced after the Flanders like the the old days. Serves as a warm-up to Paris-Roubaix.
Scheldeprijs rounds off the classics season as a "final sprint".
TDU as the main race of the Oceania Tour instead of being WT race. UCI wish a shorter season. By removing TDU from the World Tour, they are getting closer to that goal.
The two Canadian neo-classics to the America Tour.
Eneco Tour is joining the Europe Tour.
All the three races of Trittico di Autunno are on the UCI calender.
GP Ouest-France is moved to a little later so that GP Q-F and Paris-Tours will form a double.
