Seems like there's no love for this race on this board?

Allthough not all teams send their best team I'm still looking forward to this.

Like The Hitch allready mentioned in another thread that the TTT is a very nice discipline, but in an GT it really messed up the GC in a negative way imo.

Now there is no GC. Just a 1 day race about a very nice discipline.

Rabobank's challenge may be derailed before it even begins, as Pauline Ferrand-Prévot has a mechanical inside the first kilometre :(

+26secs for them at the first intermediate.

Fastest at intermediate 1 AA DRINK - LEONTIEN.NL CYCLING TEAM 16:05.5

12 seconds faster then RUSVELO.

Disaster for Rabobank. They're down to 4 already, so must have lost somebody else as well as Ferrand-Prévot's mechanical, and 26" behind at the first timecheck. They can't lose anybody else for the rest of the race, and are going nowhere fast with the two strongest TTT teams following them.

AA drink have had their 2 biggest riders behind pooley.I is confused wouldnt it be better too have someone smaller whos getting say 75% of draft than 40%?? lol
greenedge still had full 6 last it showed them spec and AA down too 5,long way to go.
edit spec may have 6 too

At the same time, the likes of Wild are sprinters primarily, so their bursts will be short, while Pooley is a former World ITT champion who can pace them for longer bursts and lead them into their turns, so that's probably the reasoning behind it.

Anyway, rumours of Rabo's demise may have been premature, they were 26" down when they got to intermediate 1 (I know they're further down now with Orica and Specialized going through), but only 24" down now.

Skil-Argos dying on the Cauberg.

RusVelo gained some impressive time in the second half of the race there. This is a pretty good course actually, well balanced; enough time on the flat for the pure power types, but with enough punchy climbs to make for a more rounded team effort. Loes Gunnewijk has been dropped from Orica's lineup so they're down to 5, Specialized with 6 still going strong.

AA Drink down to 4, Brand and Blaak dropped. 33 seconds inside RusVelo's time. Pooley had to be careful not to blow her teammates up on the Cauberg. That will probably be enough for bronze.

Yes, Rabobank outside of that. They worked really hard given the losses of Ferrand-Prévot and Slappendal early, but not enough to make the podium.

great effort by rabo, all things considered.
Vos looked like shed done plenty of work, looked wrecked on final climb

Orica puts 1'35 into AA Drink, half of it in that final section. The extra woman really helps there. Rabobank had the problem of Vos trying not to drop everyone on the Cauberg, the same as Pooley had for AA Drink.

Either way, AA Drink will get the bronze, and it's now just down to whether Specialized hold on to their advantage over Orica, although Orica were very strong over that last 13km.
