did anyone else notice they played the wrong national anthem for contador? it was the danish not the spanish national anthem. i wonder if they did that on purpose.

I didn't notice this, but if Contador handled it like posters are reporting, then all kudos to him. He has handled the situation with Lance and Bruyneel and the Astana infighting, and now this, with class. He let his legs do the talking and was a proud and deserving winner of this year's TdF.

While I agree that Contador has shown all the class in the world during this whole Tour, I'm also guessing that it's probably not hard to keep from getting upset about ANYTHING when you're standing on the top step of the podium on the Champs Elysses in Paris...

Yeah, he was clearly superior, and despite the drama he still benefited from his team (in TTT at the very least). As soon as he attacked in Arcalis, the mind games lost their spell. He insisted to have his brother (agent/personal coach/etc) on this TdF, because he expected the heat.

Would have been interesting to see how he handled the pressure if the GC was more closely contested.

Turn this around: what would these posts have been like had they played anything but the star spangled banner if LA had been standing in the #1 spot? :p

Then this would be all about Lance and we'd have 3 dozen more threads... and the speculation would never end... and there'd be undisguised glee from half of the forum.

Yeah I definitely saw the look on Lances face, he looked ****ed and embarrased that he was on the 3rd place podium.

Did you see Hinault? He seemed to be hiding during the full podium ceremony.
