"It's a great start to the season, but we have to keep going because the season doesn't end there. The important races are here, we're in the hunt for points and there are a lot of points to take but for the moment, the team has played its role well."

"The strategy is not the same, there are some races where we race differently, if we race for the win we race differently. Sometimes you have to be on the brakes. Until now, the team always liked to win and ride for the win, but now we have to adapt, we have to adapt the tactics for the hunt for points. Sometimes we no longer focus on winning the race but on being two or three riders in the top 10."

Nothing new, it was the same with the Italian PCT teams back when winning the Coppa Italia rankings guaranteed you a Giro wildcard. I think there should should only be points for the highest placed rider, at least in one day races, it seems to be a lot less of a problem in stage races.

I think just the best placed rider isn't a good idea cause you really punish teams who have a good race without just going for points. But maybe but the limit at 2 best placed riders yes, that would be a good start imo. Only teams that would punish are indeed the teams that go with overly stacked teams to super small races to farm points or teams that sprint with multiple guys, not going for the win. The top teams who can combine everything shouldn't care about points anyways.

Yeah, maybe one rider is a bit too extreme, but that racing for multiple minior placings instead of trying to actually win devalues the essence of one day racing (if you want to win you must be willing to take risks and loose).
