Is 2022 one of the years for biggest retirements? We had Gilbert, Nibali, and Valverde retiring. In addition to them we also had Rebellin, Dumoulin, Terpstra, Colbrelli and Porte retiring. So many race wins between these riders. Any examples of a year where so many great riders retired?

Wow thanks. So I was right about this year being very significant in terms of retirements. It will be very hard to imagine a peloton without Nibali/Valverde/Gilbert for me.
