Yellow Jersey most days wins Tour de France

The winner of Tour de France is the rider who has the yellow jersey most days in the race.

If more riders have the same yellow-jersey-days the time will count.

It is more fair and it will give us a complete another TdF.

It is not fair a rider can winn TdF on the last mountain in the race as last year 2019.

Maybe you agree.

an interesting proposal.

however, what do you do when a sprinter takes yellow and holds it for five days. No one else holds it for more than four. With four stages to go, the greatest, most complete rider takes yellow for the first time, he leads the sprinter by over three hours on GC, there are even two more high mountain stages, but there is no way this rider can hold yellow for five or more days to win.

do you then cancel the last four stages and give the win to the sprinter who is three hours down...?

Good one. How about holding 10 tour de Frances and it's best out of 10. That would take the whole season but nothing else matters, right?

So by that logic:

A football team score after 5 minutes, they lead for most of the game but concede 2 goals in the last 10 minutes and lose 2-1 at the final whistle.

Should they still be the winner?

Looking at this, I am almost starting to like the idea.

As a West Ham fan I can remember them being top of the league at Christmas in the 80s on a few occasions. The joke used to be that West Ham went down with the Christmas decorations. So I'm in favour.

Thank god Oscar Pereiro keeps his Tour win though

Wouldn't this get kinda boring if a rider holds yellow for the first 11 days ?

Under this way of doing things Valverde is a two time Vuelta winner.
