your worst crash

so what was your worst crash like? i don't really crash a lot. i crashed 3 times in the last 6 years, mostly because i ride around my house which is in a small village with little traffic. only one of those was half serious tho.

anyway my top 2 is:

#2: got run over from behind by a car. flew a couple meters to the front and my bike was half "swallowed" by the car (no real damage to the bike tho) had some small bruises and injuries in my hands, elbows and a big bruise on my left knee. that was like 2 years ago

#1: downhill competition with my best friend on the way home after a day of climbing, on the last corner of said downhill on a left corner hit a rock with my front wheel the bike flipped and i slided across the road for a while (don't really know the distance but if i had to guess i would say like 15 to 20 meters) till i head butted a wall. unfortunately the wall won <_<.

i wasn't wearing a helmet nor any proper protection in both crashs. on this last one i lost a very impressive % of my body skin (hands, knees, arms, chest, belly and back, oh and @ss <_<) and a big bruise on my forehead. nothing big tho made the small trip back home on the bike who had no damage and i have to say i cried like a 12 year old (which i was by the way) when i cooled down.

Oh come on. Is today really the day to start a thread such as this? This is beyond poor taste.

I haven't really had any serious crashes. The worst one was one time I was chillin' in an abandoned outdoor futsal/basketball court, my left pedal hit the ground in a left turn (yeah, stupid mistake) and I slid for a while, getting a nasty burn right under my knee. That was a long time ago.

today is a day like any other day . . . actually is a day where some people may reminded themselves about their worst crashs and thought how lucky they are.

also dim please stop being such an over-sensitive guy and pretend that the death of wouter was some sort of life changing experience to you. save that for his family. or are you really telling me that you are still crying and that you will be depressed for weeks over this?

i am not saying it isn't sad but its just as sad as the death of a stranger usually is. call me hard-hearted but in my still short life i have seen a lot of stuff that turned me less sensitive to pain that doesn't really affect me in anyway.

now back to topic. . . .

i must say that since i don't use foot clips i have busted my nuts on the frame a few too many times due to sloppy gear changing a-lá schleck or simply by riding while wearing stuff like flippie-floppies

Nothing personal, and I know we all react differently, and that's a good thing, but not today.

We have enough people who feel affected in various ways, and today threads like this are a bit too polarizing when it really isn't a moment to see tempers flare.
